Danny Dan

FORT DEFIANCE — Funeral services for Danny W. Dan, 68, will be 10 a.m., Dec. 4, at Church of God, Window Rock. The Rev. Tom White will officiate. Burial will be in Fort Defiance Community Cemetery.

Dan died Nov. 30, 2009, in Fort Defiance. He was born May 13, 1941, in Dennehotso, into the Start of the Red Streak People Clan for the Coyote Pass People Clan.

Dan attended Roswell Vocational School. He was passionate about his faith, evangelism throughout the Navajo Nation. He enjoyed family, outdoors, cutting firewood, fixing cars and was a Dallas Cowboys fan.

Survivors include his wife, Agnes Dan; sons, Terry, Verley, Terry, Morales; daughters, Tyda, Leslie, Debra; brothers, Willis, Cato, Billy; sister, Bessie; 12 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren.

Dan was preceded in death by his parents, Mae Dan, Wool Boy Dan; sister, Elsie Jones; brother, Tully Dan.

Pallbearers will be Kenny Dan, Verley Dan, Terry Dan, Morales Dan, Reynaldo Harvey, Ricard Harvey.

The family will receive relatives and friends at Church of God, Window Rock, following services.

Silver Creek Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.

Frank Jones Sr.

GALLUP — Funeral services for Frnak P. Jones Sr., 73, will be Friday, Dec. 4, at Cope Memorial Chapel, Gallup. The Rev. Dennis Gardner will officiate. Burial will be in Gallup City Cemetery.
Jones died Nov. 30, 2009, in Farmington. He was born July 3, 1936, in Naschitti.

Jones attended Brigham City High School and served 4 years in the U.S. Army. He worked for the Department of Human Services as Quality Control review for 25 years. He was an active member of the Naschitti Chapter and Veteran Affairs. Jones enjoyed fishing, carpentry and watching wrestling.

Survivors include his wife, Marjorie C. Jones; son, Frank P. Jones Jr.; daughters, Laura Lynn Olguinm of Barstow, Calif., Kathleen Tsosie of Gallup, Cynthia Burt of Albuquerque, Cecelia M. Tso of Gallup; brother, Freddy Jones of Phoenix; sisters, Alice Sandoval of Naschitti, Ethel Sells of Phoenix, Mary Brown of Gallup, Lucille Todacheene of Shiprock, Matilda Jones of Phoenix; 10 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren.

Jones was preceded in death by his parents, Peter and Angeline Jones; brother, Allen Jones.

Pallbearers will be FritzGerald Jones, Nathan Damon, Calvin Tsosie Jr., Vernon Sandoval, Leander Thomas, Lavon Thomas.

The family will receive relatives and friends at Rocky View Elementary gymnasium, following services.

Cope Memorial Chapel is in charge of arrangements.

Sam Long

ROCKSPRINGS — Funeral services for Sam Long, 69, will be 10 a.m., Friday, Dec. 4, at Rollie Mortuary. The Rev. Dennis R. Gardner will officiate. Burial will be in Rocksprings. Visitation will be 3:30 p.m., today, Dec. 3, at Rollie Mortuary.

Long died Nov. 28, 2009, in Gallup. He was born April 13, 1940, in Rocksprings, into the Zuni People Clan for the Meadow People Clan.

Long worked for the railroad and P.E.P for Rocksprings Chapter. His hobbies included watching western movies, dancing, telling stories and riding horses. He liked to be around his children and grandchildren, sitting under the tree and listening to Navajo Hour. Long liked to joke around.

Survivors include his wife, Dorothy Long of Rocksprings; sons, Samuel Long of Yahtahey, Henry Long of Sagebrush, Francis Long of Rocksprings, Cleveland Long of Rocksprings, Gibson Long of Yahtahey; daughters, Angeline Long of Yahtahey, Grace Long of Rocksprings, Ethel Long of Rocksprings; mother, Yanahbah Long of Rocksprings; sisters, Helen Damon of Rocksprings, Lucy Long of Rocksprings; 21 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren.

Long was preceded in death by his sons, Chester Long, Sampson Long; daughter, Judy Long; father, Tom Long; brothers, Peter Long, Tsosie Long; sister, Bessie Howe.

Pallbearers will be Larry Mike, Kenneth Smith, Francis Long, Henry Long, Peter Long, Nathaniel Jay Long.

The family will receive relatives and friends at Rocksprings Chapter, following services.

Clara Tracy

GALLUP — Funeral services for Clara Mae Tracy, 50, will be 10 a.m., Friday, Dec. 4, at Cope Memorial Chapel. The Rev. Bobby Boyd will officiate. Visitation will be at Cope Memorial Chapel, following services.

Tracy died Nov. 27, 2009, in Gallup. She was born Oct. 14, 1960, in Phoenix.

Tracy attended Crownpoint Boarding School and Gallup Middle School. Her hobbies included bead work, wood burning, being around friends and collecting Elvis Presly.

Survivors include her sons, Alexander Dressler of Tuba City, Jonthoan Tracy of Breadsprings; duaghters, Gwendolyn Ann Tracy of Gallup, Jeanette Tracy of Ramah, Roxanne Dressler of Tuba City; brothers, Steven M. Tracy of Gallup, Michael S. Tracy of Crownpoint, Johnny Tracy Jr. of Craig, Colo., Lionel Miller of Zuni; sisters, Darlene Tracy of Gallup, Charlen Deputee of Tohlakai; three grandchildren.

Tracy was preceded in death by her mother, Mary Ann Miller; father, Frances J. Miller.

Pallbearers will be Robert Gashyewa, Joseph Deputee, Johnny Tracy, Arthur Dressler, Robert Dressler Jr., Alexander Dressler.

The family will receive relatives and friends at Twin Lakes Chapter, following services.

Leo Yazzie

COOLIDGE — Services for Leo B. Yazzie, 53, will be 10 a.m., Friday, Dec. 4, at St. John Catholic Church, Houck. Burial will be in family plot.

Yazzie died Nov. 28, 2009, in Manuelito. He was born March 4, 1956, in Gallup, into the Red House People Clan for the Black Sheep People Clan.

Yazzie worked for Heritage Environmental. He enjoyed painting, pow wows, basketball, mechanic work and spending time with family.

Survivors include his son, Lambert Yazzie of Sacaton; mother, Mary B. Watchman of Lupton; brothers, Amos Dedman of Fort Defiance, Christopher Tsosie of Tempe, Wilford Caballero, Hobart Caballero, Johnny Caballero all of Greasewood; sister, Shirley Hayame of Alemeda, Calif., Christine Ashley of Lupton, Rena Begay of Sanders, Margie Caballero of Greasewood, Susie Caballero of Greasewood, Donna Gilchrist of Lupton, Carole Watchman-Begay of Paradise Valley.

Yazzie was preceded in death by his father, Kee B. Yazzie; mother, Anna Mae Todacheenie; grandparents, John B. Yazzie, Louise B. Yazzie, Lester James Yazzie, Michael Yazzie, Randin Yazzie.

Pallbearers will be Lambert K. Yazzie, Christopher Tsosie, Bryon Williams, Dustin Gilchrist, Julius Mayes, Ronald Yazzie, William Begay.

The family will receive relatives and friends at Lupton Chapter House, following services.
