Henry Begay Jr.

CHURCHROCK — Services are pending for Henry Roy Begay Jr., 36.

Begay died Dec. 11, 2009, in Gallup. He was born Feb. 2, 1973, in Gallup.

A gathering will be 6 p.m., Wednesday, Dec. 16, at Churchrock Chapter.

Cope Memorial Chapel is in charge of arrangements.

Bobby Johnson

GALLUP — Funeral services for Bobby L. Johnson, 39, will be 10 a.m., Wednesday, Dec. 16, at Cope Memorial, Gallup. Bishop Jerry DuBois will officiate. Burial will be in Gallup City Cemetery, Gallup.

Johnson died Dec. 11, 2009, in Gallup. He was born May 12, 1970, in Gallup, into the Black Streak Forest People Clan for the Towering House People Clan.

Johnson graduated from Gallup High. He worked for various wholesale jewelers as an inlayer, and worked with Paul Ramirez for many years. He was an avid reader loved to listen to heavy metal music and to ride his bike.

Survivors include his mother, Marie Johnson of Gallup; sisters, Betty Wilson of Gallup, Kathyrn Johnson of Gallup, Bella Miller of Phoenix.

Johnson was preceded in death by his father, Leo Johnson; brother, Jason Johnson.

Pallbearers will be Gary Wilson, Vernon Wilso, Emery Sam, Derrick Mike, Benjamin Mike.

The family will receive relatives and friends at Marie Johnson’s residence, following services.

Cope Memorial Chapel is in charge of arrangements.

Verice McCann

ALBUQUERQUE — Viewing for Verice McCann, 80, was Dec. 14, at Direct Funeral Services, Albuquerque.

McCann died Dec. 9, 2009. She was born Oct. 11, 1929.

McCann was a dedicated mother.

Survivors include his daughters, Dorthy Louise Jackson, Ruby Kleinsmith; four grandchildren; two great-grandchildren.

McCann was preceded in death by her husband, Henry McCann; son, Maurice Jim Jackson.

Joseph Montano

WITCHITA FALLS, Texas — Services are pending for Joseph Angel Montano, 51.

Montano died Dec. 7, 2009, in Witchita Falls, Texas. He was born Oct. 18, 1958, in Gallup.

Montano was a carpenter and enjoyed watching sporting and watching his children and grandchildren.

Survivors include his sons, Jesse Montano, Anthony Montano, Christ Montano, Frankie Montano, all of Albuquerque, Adrian Camboni of Witchita Falls, Texas; daughter, Kristal Montano of Portables; mother, Juanita Casteneda; brothers, Rudy Montano Jr. of Witchita Falls, Texas, Andy Montano, Phillip Rameriz Jr., Raymond Rameriz, all of Gallup; sister, Rose Gallegos of Portales; 14 grandchildren.

Montano was preceded in death by his grandparents, Geronimo and Trinidad Casteneda, Polinario and Candida Montano; father, Rudy Montano Sr

Bernice Toledo

ANTELOPE LOOK OUT — Funeral services for Bernice Perry Toledo, 77, will be 11 a.m., Wednesday, Dec. 16, at the 1st Navajo Baptist Church, Crownpoint. Brother Samuel Walker will officiate. Burial will be in private family land, Antelope Look Out.

Toledo died Dec. 12, 2009, in Crownpoint. She was born Feb. 20, 1932, in Antelope Look Out into the Tangle People Clan for the Folded Arms People Clan.

Toledo was a lifelong rugweaver and belonged to rug weaver’s association. She was a domestic homemaker, sheep herder and rised livestock. She was a Christian and a prayer warrior.

Survivors include her sons, Sam P. Toledo of Crownpoint, Sampson K. Toledo of Aneth, Utah, Daniel K. Toledo of Gallup; daughters, Janys Toledo of Farmington, Gernieco Dee of Gamerco, Gloria A. Toledo of Crownpoint, Berna A. Toledo of Crownpoint, Caroline A. Cates of Las Cruces, Susie A. Toledo of Crownpoint, Bernice Toledo of Seattle, Wash.; brother, Benny Perry of Brigham City, Utah; sister, Lolita Perry of Antelope Look Out; 25 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren.

Toledo was preceded in death by her husband, George Kee Toledo; son, David Kee Toledo; parents, Robert Bob Perry, Mary Nez Begay Perry.

Pallbearers will be Daniel K. Toledo, Kyle Dee, Aaron K. Toledo, William K. Toledo, McKenzie Martin, Jerreth Martin, Lyman B. Spang III, Delbert Toledo, Julyna Toledo.

The family will receive relatives and friends at 1st Navajo Baptist Church, Crownpoint, following services.

Rollie Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.
