Grand jury indicts Eugene Ashley after Independent’s investigation

ALBUQUERQUE — A convicted killer is back in custody and facing new charges thanks to information that surfaced in a Gallup Independent investigation.

Eugene Ashley, 32, originally from Houck, Ariz., is currently being held in Bernalillo County’s Metropolitan Detention Center on a $100,000 bond. On Nov. 24, a Bernalillo County grand jury indicted Ashley on two felony counts of criminal sexual penetration and kidnapping.
