Charles Brown

ALBUQUERQUE — Memorial services for Charles C. Brown, 81, were 10 a.m., today, Dec. 23, at Paradise Hills United Methodist Church, Rio Rancho.

Brown died Dec. 21, 2009, in Albuqueque. He was born Aug. 10, 1928, in Lordsburg.

Brown was employed in the Savings and Loan Industry since 1956, and lived in Pueblo, Colo., Salida, Colo., and Gallup. He was retired from Gallup Federal Savings in Gallup.

Survivors include his wife, Nina Brown; children, Earl Brown, Charyl Lee Amick, Curtis Brown; step-son, Bill Wyatt; 11 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren.

Brown was preceded in death by his parents, Earl Truman Brown, Mary Brown; brothers, Eldridge Brown, Harold Brown, Sterling Brown; sister, Earlene; first wife, Mettie Brown.

Robert Jim

PHOENIX — Funeral services for Robert Todecheenie Jim, 14, were 11 a.m., today, Dec. 23, at Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints Church, Holbrook. Visitation was 10 a.m., today, Dec. 23, at the Church. Burial was in Holbrook Cemetery.

Survivors include his parents; grandmother, Ruth Ann Jim.

Lucy Lee

GREASEWOOD — Graveside services for Lucy Lee, 94, were 10 a.m., today, Dec. 23, at Greasewood Cemetery. Viewing was 9:30-10 a.m., today, Dec. 23.

Lee died Dec. 20, 2009, in Winslow. She was born June 17, 1915, in Lower Greasewood.

Survivors include her daughters, Maggie Begay of Greasewood, Ruby Hill of Cornfields, Jessie Ross of St. Michaels, Juanita Stevens of St. George, Utah, Nolta Nez of Greasewood, Elaine Lee of Greasewood; sons, Alford Lee, Sr. of Greasewood, Calvin F. Lee of Farmington, Freddie A. Lee of Greasewood.

Lee was preceded in death by her husband, Frank Lee; daughter, Ellen Billie; sons, Harold E. Lee, Roger Lee.

Jacob Wauneka

FORT DEFAINCE — Funeral services for Jacob Keegan Wauneka, 4 1/2 months, were 9 a.m., today, Dec. 23, at Our Lady of the Blessed Sacrament. Private disposition was in family plot, Blue Canyon. Visitation was 9 a.m., today, Dec. 23, at Our Lady of the Blessed Sacrament.

Wauneka died Dec. 19, 2009, in Phoenix. He was born July 25, 2009, in Fort Defiance, into the Mexican People Clan for the Towering House People Clan.

Survivors include his parents, Cheryl Wauneka, Keegan Burns; brother, Marcus Francisco; sisters, Mariah, Marisa Francisco; grandparents, Sam Wauneka Sr., Betty J. Wauneka.

Pallbearers were Sam N. Wauneka Jr., Sam Wauneka III, Loren L. Wauneka, Jarred J. Logg.

Silver Creek Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.

James Yazzie

FUTED ROCK, Ariz. — Funeral services for James William Yazzie, 81, will be 10 a.m., Thursday, Dec. 24, at the All Saints Mission, Ganado. Brother Paul will officiate. Burial will be in Ganado Community Cemetery. Visitation will be 9 a.m., Dec. 24, at All Saints Mission.

Yazzie was born Oct. 11, 1928, in Futed Rock, Ariz., into the Bitter Water People Clan for the Towering House People Clan.

Yazzie graduated high school and attended college. He was a teacher at Sherman Institute, Riverside, Calif. and worked at Hunter Engineering, Bowman’s Auto Wrecking, all in Southern California. Yazzie enjoyed painting, gardening, traditional Diné dances and life in general.

Survivors include his sons, Billy Yazzie, Michael Yazzie, Martin Yazzie; daughters, Gloria Yazzie, Gilda Yazzie, Wanda Yazzie, Melinda Yazzie, Jeri Yazzie, Karen Meyer, Michele Yazzie, Sharon Yazzie-Herbert; sister, Clara Johnson; seven grandchildren; three great-grandchildren.

Yazzie was preceded in death by Glenna Mae Kee, Maggie Mae Mudamn, Frank Bia.

Pallbearers will be Martin Yazzie, Billy Yazzie, and other family members.

The family will receive relatives and friends at Ganado Chapter House, following services.

Tse Bonito Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.
