Assistant DA charged with DWI

GALLUP — An attorney at the office of District Attorney Karl Gillson was arrested Wednesday for allegedly driving while drunk.

Casey Fitch, 36, is charged with reckless driving and aggravated DWI after he refused to give a breath sample about 8 p.m. Wednesday. An hour earlier, police responded to the 100 block of Mesa Street, where a resident reported that Fitch nearly collided with a parked car. To the police, the resident described watching Fitch repeatedly attempt to climb a hill which had been made slick by snow and ice.
