Mendoza Road closed until summer

GALLUP — Motorists traveling Mendoza Road on the city’s west side will notice some temporary changes currently in place, at least until this coming summer, officials said this week.

Referencing a memorandum from two months ago, City Public Works Director Stan Henderson said Mendoza was selected by the past mayoral administration for reconstruction using funds from the state’s Gov. (Bill) Richardson’s Investment Program funds. The project’s engineer is Bohannon Huston of Albuquerque, Henderson read from the memo.
