Killing one of many Copyright © 2010 GALLUP — Local Catholic Sister Marguerite Bartz was one of 37 Catholic pastoral workers who were killed around the world in 2009, according to a report release by the Vatican. The Catholic Agenzia Fides compiled the annual report, which said the 37 deaths were “the highest number in the last 10 years and nearly double the number reported in 2008.” Thirty priests, two religious sisters, two seminarians, and three lay volunteers lost their lives in 2009.
