Study in heroism: Congressional Medal of Honor Hershey Miyamura

of a clay statue of Miyamura on Friday at the Gallup Cultural Center
Art Museum. Joe was commissioned by the city of Gallup to create

All
rocked up & no place to go: ABOVE: Holding makeshift instruments
in a makeshift venue, the metal band Bloodline is one of many in
the area that have difficulty in finding suitable venues to perform,
especially in their roles as promoters of national acts that come
to their area. They say that there is a huge crowd in the area thirsty
for their brand of music, but without a place to play the scene
suffers. "The scene is not dead, it's just underground and we want
to bring above ground," Davidson Steele, the bands drummer said.
Also in Bloodline is Loren Anthony on vocals and bass while his
brother Lelend plays guitar. You can catch them with a slew of other
metal acts, including the international metal band Hemlock, at Wowie's
Gym on Saturday at 6 pm. [Photo Illustration by Brian Leddy/Independent]
