George Sarver

ALBUQUERQUE — Serves for George Lewis Sarver Jr., 84, will be 11 a.m. Monday, Dec. 3 at Compassion Mortuary. Elder Job Shop will officiate. Burial will follow at Grants Memorial Park. Military honors will be performed by the Kirtland Airforce Base Honor Guard.

Sarver died Nov. 29, 2007 in Albuquerque. He was born May 11, 1923 in Pittsburg.

He was retired from the U.S. Air Force. He was a lifetime member of the Heights Seventh Day Adventist Church and Helped open the Crownpoint Boarding School where he was a teacher for many years.

Survivors include wife, Helen Sarver of Albuquerque; sons, George Lewis Sarver III of Phoenix, Timothy Sarver of Grants, George Sarver IV of Texas; daughters, Barbara Willcox of Grants, Deborah Blocker of Albuquerque; sisters, Esther Adarui, Dr. Peggy Sarver, both of Beaver Falls, Penn.; 12 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren.

Sarver was preceded in death by parents, George Lewis Sarver Sr., Margaret Sarver.

Pallbearers will be Jesse Sarver, Timothy Sarver Jr., Ben Willcox, Edward Willcox, David Willcox, Ryan Shane Blocker, Leslie Wayne Sarver, Andrew Sarver.


Nervin Smith

MILAN — Funeral services for Nervin Smith, 46, will be 10 a.m. Dec. 3 at the Gospel Light House in Haystack. Burial will be in Thoreau.

Survivors include wife, Loretta Delgarito of Milan; sons, Nathan Smith of Albuquerque, Truman Smith of Thoreau, Tristine Smith of Thoreau, Fernando Smith of Milan; daughters, Nadine Smith of Prewitt, Cherylenne Smith of Carlsbad, Andrea Smith of Thoreau; brothers, Gilbert Smith of Crownpoint, Gilson Smith of Milan, Earnest Hudson of Prewitt; sister, Loretta Smith of Haystack; two grandchildren.

Smith was preceded in death by his parents, Wilbert C. Smith, Elsie M. Smith; Charley Martinez, Floyd Marinez, Clarecita Nez, Nancy Desiderio, Juanita Castillo, James Martinez, Earl Martinez, Rose Martinez; grandparents, Wilson Smith, Mable Smith.

Pallbearers will be Jones Delgarito, Darrell Jake, Stevie Smith, Shane Smith, Tom Apachito, Terry Vendever.

The family will receive relatives and friends at Baca Chapter House after service.


Lois Starkovich

GALLUP — Services are pending for Lois W. Starkovich, 76.

Starkovich died Thursday, Nov. 29, 2007 in Gallup. She was born Feb. 7, 1931 in Harmony, NY.

Rollie Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.


Cora Mondragon

GRANTS — Funeral Mass for Cora Mondragon, 82, will be 10 a.m. today, Dec. 1 at St. Teresa of Avila Catholic Church. The Very Rev. Alberto Avella will officiate. Burial will follow at Grants Memorial Park. A rosary will be 7 p.m. Friday, Nov. 30 at St. Teresa of Avila Catholic Church.
Mondragon died Nov. 29, 2007 in Albuquerque. She was born April 24, 1915 in LaRojo, Colo.

Survivors include husband, Jose Mondragon of Grants; stepsons, Rudy Mondragon of Ely, Nev., Pete Mondragon of Chamisal, Eluid Mondragon of Chamisal, N.M.; brother, Eloy Maestas of Stockton, Calif.; and many grandchildren.

Mondragon was preceded in her death by parents and other siblings.

Pallbearers will be Leonardo Mondragon, Henry Mondragon Jr., Andrew Esquibel, Ralph Arellano, Michael Mondragon, Joey Gutierrez III.
