Wilbert Tom

TSEYATOH — Funeral services for Wilbert “Potsy” Tom, 42, will be 10 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 26 at Cope Memorial Chapel. Pastor Ted Farris will officiate. Burial will be in the City Cemetery, Gallup.

Tom died Dec. 17, 2007 in Gallup. He was born Sept. 16, 1965 in Gallup into the Salt People Clan for the Red Running into Water People Clan.

He worked for various mobile home sales as a set-up man. His hobbies included working on N.H.C. instruments as well as bead work. He was a member of the Native American Church.

Survivors include his sons, Rayford Tom of Standing Rock, Wade Tom of Standing Rock; daughters, Candice Tom, Charmayne Tom, Celise Tom, all of Standing Rock; parents, Wilford Lee Tom Sr. of Tseyatoh, N.M., Mary Tom of Gallup; brother, Derek Tom of St. Michaels; sisters, Sharon Samuels, Karen Joe, Geraldine Bennett, all of Gallup, Tanya Tom of Las Vegas, Nev., Carlene Tom of Tseyatoh, Winifred Tom of Twin Buttes; grandmother, Pearl Tom of Tseyatoh.

Tom was preceded in death by his grandfather, Ruben Tom Sr.; brother, Wilford L. Tom Jr.

Pallbearers will be Gilbert Tom, William Bennett, Ruben Tom Jr., Ernest Bilagody, Dwight Cook and George Tom.

Cope Memorial Chapel is in charge of arrangements.


Kee Coho

PINEHILL — Funeral services for Kee Tso Coho, 86, will be 10 a.m. Dec. 26 at the Sand Mountain Church of Nazarene. Burial will be in family land at Pinehill, N.M.

Coho died Friday, Dec. 21, 2007 in Zuni. He was born May 5, 1921 in Pinehill into the Apache Green Meadow People Clan for the Bitter Water People Clan.

Coho enjoyed being a rancher were he tended to his sheep and cattle. He also enjoyed working as a carpenter. He was a great storyteller and historian. Coho spoke fluent Navajo and Spanish. He was also a long distance runnner.

Survivors include his sisters, Zonnie Chatto of Pinehill, Katie C. Henio of Pinehill, Elizabeth Martine of Pinehill.

Rollie Mortuary is in charge of arrangments.
