Thomas Nelson

LUPTON, Ariz. — Funeral services for Thomas E. Nelson, 69, will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 23 at the Church of St. John the Evangelist in Houck, Ariz. Father Cormac Antram, O.F.M., will officiate. Burial will be in the Community Cemetery in Houck.

Nelson died Monday, Jan. 15. He was born July 28, 1937 in Lupton, Ariz. into the Salt People Clan and for the One Who Walks Around People Clan.

Nelson is survived by sons, Terry Nelson of Church Rock, N.M. and Perry J. Nelson of Zuni, N.M.; daughters, Thomasina E. Nelson of Gallup and Vinora C. Nelson of Tohatchi, N.M.; brothers, James Nelson of Lupton, David Nelson of Allentown, Ariz. and Roy Bills of Phoenix; sisters, Marie Nelson Joe of Allentown, Lucy Mae Nelson of Phoenix and Lucille Nelson of Gallup.

Nelson was preceded in death by his parents, Oscar and Patricia Nelson; brothers, Jerry Nelson and Ray Nelson; sisters, Mabel Yazzie, Judy Nelson, Stella Nelson and Ruby Nelson.

Pallbearers will be Vernon Nelson, Jerry Nelson, Woodrow Sandoval, David Nelson Jr., Leonard S. Thompson Sr. and Leslie Joe.

The family will receive relatives and friends at the Lupton Chapter House following the burial.

Cope Memorial is in charge of arrangements.


Edward Duffy

IYANBITO, N.M. — Funeral services for Edward John Duffy Sr., 70, will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 23 at Rollie Mortuary. Pastor Mark Thomas and Brother Clyde Clark will officiate. Burial will at Sunset Memorial Cemetery.

Duffy died Friday, Jan. 19. He was born on Sept. 9, 1936.

Duffy is survived by his wife, Eleanor K. Duffy of Iyanbito; daughters, Debbie Duffy and Daphne Dewees of Albuquerque, Letha Duffy and Retha Duffy-Riege of Gallup, Elaine K. Duffy of Iyanbito; son, Edward J. Duffy of Iyanbito; nine grandchildren.

A reception celebrating Duffy's life will be at Iyanbito Chapter House following burial.
