Imelta Wauneka

FORT DEFIANCE — Services for Imelta Wauneka, 73, will be at 10 a.m., Wednesday, July 18 at the United Methodist Church in Window Rock. Pastor Roger Tsosie will officiate. Burial will follow in the Family Plot in So Sila, Ariz.

Wauneka died July 14, 2007 in Albuquerque. She was born May 11, 1934 in Milk Water, Ariz. into the One Who Walks Around People Clan for the Edge Water People Clan.

Wauneka was a homemaker, rug weaver and she enjoyed arts and crafts and singing in the church choir.

Survivors include her son Wilford Belone of Cedar City, Utah; sisters, Mary Belone, Fannie Buck, both of Milk Water, Ariz., Susie Buck of Upper Fruitland, Ariz.; four grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

She was preceded in death by Sam A. Wauneka, Julia A. Wauneka, John Wauneka, Willie Wauneka, Ned Wauneka and Annie W. Barney.

Pallbearers will be Eric Harvey, Jonathan Willie, Theodrick Williams, Craig Anthony, Wilfred Belone and Spencer Wauneka.

The family will receive relatives and friends at the Crystal Chapter House after services.

Silver Creek Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.


John "Juan" Medina

GRANTS — Services for John "Juan" V. Medina, 74, will be at 11 a.m., Thursday, July 19, at Compassion Mortuary. Burial will follow at Grants Memorial Park. Elder Reyes Romero Jr., will officiate.

Visitation will from 4-7 p.m., Wednesday, July 18 at Compassion Mortuary.

Medina died July 13, 2007 in Grants. He was born July 18, 1932 in Llano, N.M.

Survivors include his sons Randy Medina, Abe Medina, Michael Medina, all of Grants; daughters Lorraine Lucero, Yolanda Zamora, LouAnn Montano, Bonnie Medina, all of Grants; brother Manuel Medina of Midvale, Utah; three grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife Irene Gurule Medina; parents Abel Medina and Josephine Tafoya Medina; son David Arthur Medina; sisters Annie Sanchez, Mary Garcia, Laura Vigil, Emma Valdez.

Pallbearers will be Anthony Lopez, Jonathan Rodarte, David Sheppard, Leonard Zamora, Orlando Chavez, Arturo Mondragon, Victorino Rodriguez and Leo Casaus.


Robin Gaddis

GRANTS — Services for Robin M. Gaddis, 60, will be at 2 p.m., Wednesday, July 18, 2007 at the American Legion Lodge #80 in Grants.

Gaddis died July 13, 2007 in Grants. She was born July 28, 1946 in Scottsbluff, Neb.

Survivors include her husband, Dale Gaddis of Grants; mother, Lorna Nordquist of Gering, Neb.; sons, David Gadds of Grants and Darryl Gaddis of Belen; daughters, Laura Cady of Los Lunas and Diane Taylor of Grants; brothers, Eugene Nordquist of Minatare, Neb. and Van Nordquist of Ore.; nine grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

Gaddis was preceded in death by her father, H. Myron Nordquist; and daughter, Barbara Jean Gaddis.


Darlene Begay

KITSILLIE, Ariz. — Graveside services for Darlene Begay, 39, will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday, July 18 in Kitsillie, Ariz. Edward Begay will officiate.

Begay died July 13, 2007 in Farmington. She was born Nov. 20, 1967 in Kitsillie into the Near the Water People Clan for the Bitter Water People Clan.

Begay graduated form Many Farms High School in 1985. She was a homemaker who loved animals and being around family.

Begay was preceded in death by her parents, Whitehairson Begay and Jesssie B. Nez.

Pallbearers will be Ivan Begay, Tsosie Begay, Phillip Begay, Donald Begay, and Fred Benally.

The family will receive relatives and friends in Kitsillie following the services.

Silver Creek Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.


Florencio Chavez

ALBUQUERQUE — Funeral services for Florencio J. Chavez, 59, will be at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday, July 18 at French Mortuary Westside Chapel. Deacon Manuel Montoya will officiate. Burial will follow in Santa Fe National Cemetery.

Visitation will be held one hour prior to service.

Chavez died July 15, 2007. was born June 6, 1948 in Grants.

Chavez was a Vietnam veteran and a Gallup firefighter for 20 years.

Survivors include his wife, Martha Chavez of Albuquerque; son, Cruz Chavez of Albuquerque; daughters, Sandra Baca of Albuquerque; brothers, Santa Cruz Chavez of Bernalillo and Louis Chavez of Albuquerque; sisters, Ann Chavez, Lydia Chavez, Cynthia Chavez, Theresa Chavez all of Las Vegas, Nev.; and four grandchildren.

Chavez was preceded in death by two brothers.


Tom Robertson

LITTLE WATER — Services for Tom Robertson, 34, will be announced at a later date.

Robertson died July 14, 2007 in Little Water. He was born July 29, 1972 in Crownpoint.

Cope Memorial is in charge of arrangements.
