Rescue personnel work to remove a woman, who's name was not available
at the time of the crash, from a small pickup on U.S. Highway 491
at the eight mile marker Friday night. The crash occurred around
11:30 p.m. after the woman, who was traveling south in the northbound
lane with her headlights off, struck an SUV head on, causing it
to roll. The occupants of the SUV, the Tillotson family of Utah
and their six children, suffered no severe injuries but the father
was taken to hospital. The driver of the pickup suffered injuries
and had to be extracted from the vehicle. Police suspect that alcohol
was a major factor in the incident. [Photos by Brian Leddy/Independent]
