Harry Morgan

GALLUP — Funeral services for Harry Morgan, 61, were at 11 a.m. today, June 16 at the First United Methodist Church in Gallup. Pastor Milton Shirleson will officiate. Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Park.

Morgan died June 11, 2007 in Gallup, He was born June 9, 1946 in Manuelito, NM into the Blacksheep Clan for the Edgewater Clan.

Morgan spent his entire life creating old style Navajo jewelry. He was world renowned for his unique style. He solidified his status as a great Navajo silversmith.Survivors include his sons, Kelly, Morgan of Crownpoint, Greg Pat of Gallup, Russel Morgan of Crownpoint, and Jacob Morgan of Crownpoint; parents, Herbert K. Morgan, Sr. and Louise Morgan both of Manuelito; brothers, Herbert Morgan, Jr., Henry Morgan, and Leo Morgan all of Manuelito; sisters, Grace Morgan and Jean Morgan of Manuelito; and six grandchildren.

Morgan was preceded in death by Ray Morgan, Thomas Morgan, Richard Morgan, James Morgan, Ninibah Morgan Cahn, Ruth Morgan Green, Veronica Morgan Begay.

Pallbearers will be Jacob Morgan, Clay Morgan, Duane Crawford, Darrell Bennett, Derwin Morgan, Jerald Begay, Julius Morgan, Richard Morgan.

A reception will be at First United Methodist Church following services.

Rollie Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.


Mary Wesley

NEWCOMB — Funeral services for Mary Wesley, 84, will be held at 10 a.m., Monday, June 18, 2007 at the Lighthouse United Pentecostal Church at Newcomb, N.M. Pastor Melvin Yazzie will officiate. Burial will be at the family cemetery at Newcomb, New Mexico.

A visitation will be held Sunday, June 13, from 3 to 5 p.m. at Desert View Funeral Home at Shiprock.

Wesley died Thursday, June 14, 2007 in Shiprock.

Survivors include sons: Herbert Gleason, Charels Wesley, Jr., Jackie Wesley and Kenny Wesley; daughters: Grace Gleason, Louise Yazzie, Priscilla Antonio and Julia A. Wesley.

Pallbearers will be Reginald Antonio, Larry Antonio, Jr., Daniel Gould, Arnold Gould, Jr., Kysar Wesley and Kyle Wesley.

A reception will be held at the Newcomb Chapter House, after services.


Sadie Johnson

WINDOW ROCK — Services for Sadie Cleveland Johnson, 93, will be at 10 a.m., on Monday, June 18, 2007 at St. Michaels Catholic Mission in St. Michaels. Father Gilbert Schneider, OFM, will officiate. Burial will follow at the family plot in Navajo, N.M.

Visitation will be one hour prior to services.

Johnson died June 14, 2007 in Window Rock. She was born May 14, 1914.

Johnson attended Fort Defiance and St. Michaels Boarding schools. She also attended Fort Lewis College. She was a telephone operator in Window Rock and Gallup and worked as a boys dormitory supervisor in Wide Ruins. In 1983 she retired from BIA after 40 years of service.

Survivors include three grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren and six great-great-grandchildren.

Johnson was preceded in death by her husband Ralph Johnson; son, Thomas E. Johnson Sr.; parents Sam and Mary Cleveland; brothers Edward, Benjamin, Tom and Willian Clevelands; sisters Maggie Lee and Marian Todakonzie.

Pallbearers will be family members.
Silver Creek Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.
