Charles Guy, Sr.
CHINLE VALLEY Funeral services for Charles
Kelvin Guy, Sr., 88, will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday, May 2, at Our
Lady of the Blessed Sacrament in Fort Defiance. Burial will follow
in Fort Defiance Veterans Cemetery with full military honors.
A rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. today, May 1 at the Chinle
Mission.
Guy, Sr. died April 28 in Chinle. He was born July 26, 1918, into
the Coyote Pass Clan for the Water Flows Together Clan.
Guy, Sr. retired from the BIA with 44 years of service. He served
in the U.S. Marine Corps with the 1st Battalion, 11th Marine,
First Marine Division, as a Navajo Code Talker. Guy, Sr. served
in combat from Pearl Harbor to Okinawa, including Guada Canal,
Nagasaki Sasbo, Japan and Tientsien, China. He was a recipient
of the Congressional Silver Medal and the Purple Heart.
Survivors include wife Ida Bia Guy of Chinle Valley, Ariz.; sons
Stanley Draper of Church Rock, Elmer Guy of St. Michaels, Alphonso
Guy of Ganado, Charles Guy, Jr. of Tempe, and Terry Guy of Chinle;
daughters, Priscilla Tabaha of Navajo, Maxine Dineyazhe of Gamerco,
LaVerda Sorrell of Navajo, Velina Guy of Hunters Point, Ariz.,Thomasita
Castillo of Many Farms, and Mary Tsosie of Chinle; brother, Paul
Guy, Sr. of Chinle; sisters, Mary Ann Claw of Chinle and Jean
Begay of Chinle; 37 grandchildren; and 13 great grandchildren.
Guy, Sr. was preceded in death by his daughter, Wilhelmina Guy;
parents, Notah and Elouise Draper; brother, George Guy, Sr.; sisters,
Janet Descheeny and Louise Begay.
The family will receive relatives and friends at St. Dominic's
Hall in Fort Defiance.
Cope Memorial Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
Torretto Julian-Jaye Perry
MILAN Funeral services for Torretto Julian-Jaye
Perry, infant, will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, May 2 at Compassion
Mortuary. Burial will follow at the Grants Memorial Park.
Perry died April 25, in Albuquerque. He was born April 4.
Survivors include Julian and Laura Ann Perry of Milan; brothers,
Damien Jaye Perry, Tytan Jaye Perry, Alejandro Perry, Keanu Perry,
and Julian Jaye Perry, Jr. all of Milan; sisters, Lorian Perry
and Precious Perry both of Milan; grandparents, Pauine Enrico
of Crownpoint, Tony Enrico of Prewitt, Ben Joe Perry, Sr. of Crownpoint,
and Josephine Sloan of Milan.
Compassion Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.
Dorothy Taylor
PAGUATE, NM Funeral services for Dorothy
"Dottie" Ann Taylor, 69, will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday,
May 2, at St. Elizabeth Catholic Church in Paguate. Burial will
follow at the village cemetery.
A rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. today, May 1, at the Tegreeny
residence in Paguate.
Taylor died April 28 in Casa Blanca. She was born February 9,
1938, in Winslow, Ariz.
Taylor was a resident of Laguna Rainbow Elder Care Center since
2001.
Survivors include her brother, Kenneth R. Taylor of Winslow; sister,
Verna Whipple of Window Rock;
Taylor was preceded in death by her parents, Tsosie D. and Helen
T. Taylor; brothers, Edwin F. and Larry J. Taylor; sister, Irene
Taylor Reed.
Pallbearers will be family members and relatives.
Elizabeth Yazzie
CHINLE Funeral services for Elizabeth
Holtsoi Yazzie, 90, will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday, May 2 at the
Trinity Presbyterian Church in Chinle. Jerry Zephier will officiate.
Burial will follow in Chinle.
Yazzie died April 25, in Tempe. She was born December 22, 1917,
in Chinle into the Towering House People Clan for the Edgewater
People Clan.
Survivors include her daughter, Eunice Zephier; two grandchildren;
and 3 great grandchildren.
Yazzie was preceded in death by her husband, William "Willie"
Yazzie; parents, Eunice Holtsoi and Holtsoi Nez; brothers, Eli
Holtsoi, John Yazzie, and Mike Gorman; sisters, Martha Holtsoi,
Katherine Tsosie, and Helen Peshlakai.
Pallbearers will be Thomas Hunter, John Hunter, Michael Hunter,
Richard Holtsoi, Chester Yazzie, and Dustin Zephier.
The family will receive relatives and friends at Trinity Presbyterian
Fellowship Hall following services.

Alice Arnold
TOHATCHI Services for Alice H. Arnold,
98, will be announced at a later date.
Arnold died April 29, in Tohatchi. She was born September 28,
1908, in Springstead, N.M. into the Charcoal Streak Clan for the
Towering House Clan.
Rollie Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.
