Frank Woody Jr.
LITTLEWATER Services for Frank Henry Woody Jr., 40, wil
lbe 11 p.m. Monday Nov. 12 at Cope Memorial Chapel. Jake Delgarito
will officiate. Burial will be at Sunset Memorial Park, Gallup.
Woody Jr. died Nov. 5, 2007 in Medford, Oregon. He was born Jan.
3, 1967 in Gallup into the Mescalero Apache People Clan for the
Zia/Weaver People Clan.
He attended Borrego Pass Day School, graduated from Crownpoint
High School and Navajo Technical College. He was employed with
various construction companies. His favorite hobbies were family
cookouts, watching movies, horseback riding, fishing, cooking.
Survivors include sons, Jonathan P. Woody of White Swan, Wash.,
Lucus Woody of Lupton, Ariz.; daughter, Kandice R. Woody of Lupton;
brothers, Collins Woody, Franklin Woody, both of Crownpoint; sisters,
Larena Woody of Leavenworth, Kan., Elenor W. Ashley of Little
Water, N.M., Leita Jackson of Leavenworth, Kan.
Woody was preceded in death by father, Frank H. Woody Sr.; mother,
Lucy M. Woody; brother, Clarence Smith Jr.; sister, Florena Woody.
The family will receive relatives and friends in Little Water,
N.M., residence of Vincent and Elenor Ashley, after services.
Cope Memorial is in charge of arrangements.
Belva Johnson
DENNEHOTSO, Ariz. Funeral services for Belva Johnson,
82, will be 10 a.m. Nov. 10 at the Jesus christ of Latter-day
Saints Chapel in Bluff, Utah. President Charles Johnson will officiate.
Burial will be in Dennehotso. Visitation will be 9 a.m. prior
to services.
Johnson died Nov. 7, 2007 in Phoenix. She was born Jan. 5, 1925
in Dennehotso into the Bitter Water People Clan for the Redhouse
People Clan.
Johnson served her family, community and church for many years.
Survivors include sons, Marvin Johnson of Bluff, Utah, Charles
Johnson of Blanding, Utah, David Johnson of Cortez, Colo., Kenneth
Johnson of Dennehotso; daughters, Phyllis Norton of Gallup, Marqarita
(Marti) Tsosie, Cecelia Johnson, Lucille Johnson of Dennehotso;
brother, James Simp of Dennehotso; sister, Louise Harrison of
Dennehotso; 27 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; one great-great
grandchild.
Johnson was preceded in death by husband, Edward Johnson; parents,
Hosteen and Mary Simp; brothers, George, Tom, Billy Simp.
Pallbearers will be family members.
The family will receive relatives and friends at the Johnsons
residence after services.
Ellison Holland Sr.
RABBITT BRUSH, N.M. Services for Ellison Raymond Holland
Sr., 71, will be 10 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 13 at the Good Shepherd
Mission, Fort Defiance. Rev. Richard Red Stevens will officiate.
Burial will be in the family plot in Fort Defiance. Visitation
will be one hour prior to services.
Holland Sr. died Nov. 6, 2007 in Rabbitt Brush. He was born Sept.
16, 1936 in Fort Defiance into the Red Running Into Water People
Clan for the Hairy People Clan.
Holland went to Intermountain Indian School. He worked for ONEO
and CETA as a Carpenter, NFPI as a lumber grader and retired.
He was a member of the AIRCA in his younger days and received
numerous awards for bull riding. At time of his death he was a
rancher, taking care of his livestock. He enjoyed spending quality
time with his family and children and friends.
Survivors include his sons, Ellison Ray Holland Jr., Nelson Holland,
Elton Holland; daughter, Elciena Holland Baker; sisters, Margaret
Watson of Fort Defiance, Marie Belone of Rabbitt Brush, Alice
Morgan of Coalmine, Irene Holland of Rabbitt Brush.
Holland was preceded in death by his wife, Marlene Claw Holland;
parents, David and Mable Holland; sister, Mary Y. Belone.
Pallbearers will be Ellison Ray Holland Jr., Elton Holland, Curby
Scott, Curtis Claw and Anthony Belone.
The family will receive relatives and friends at Fort Defiance
Chapter House after services.
Silver Creek Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.
