Franklin Willie Sr.

EL MIRAGE, Ariz. — Funeral services for Franklin Willie Sr., 61, will be 10 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 24, 2007 at the Cope Memorial, Gallup.

Willie died Nov. 17, 2007 in El Mirage, Ariz. He was born Feb. 10, 194 in Phoenix into the Red Running into the Water People Clan for the Mud People Clan.

He worked on the Santa Fe Railroad for many years. After retiring in 1996 he lived in El Mirage, Ariz. to be closer to his children and grandchildren.

Survivors include sons, Phillip Willie, Herman Willie, Barney Willie, Franklin Willie, Marvin Yazzie; daughters, Luciile Willie, Heather Norris, Laberta Largo, Eilene Russell, Katie Yazzie; brothers, Kenneth Willie, Benny Willie, David Willie; sisters, Janette Largo, Marie Buck, Nellie Lee; 24 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren.

Willie was preceded in death by parents, George Willie and Bah W. Thomas; son, Stoney Willie; grandson, McKallup Norris.

The family received relatives and friends at Church Rock Chapter House 5 p.m. Nov. 20.


Bonnie Chischilly

MEXICAN SPRINGS — Burial for Bonnie Elvina Chischilly will be at Lone Pine Cemetery, Mexican Springs. Father Joseph Redinbo, OFM and Deacon Sherman Manuelito will officiate. A rosary will be recited Nov. 24, 2007 at 9:30 at St. Mary’s Church.

Chischilly died Nov. 20, 2007 in Flagstaff. She was born April 10, 1928 in Mexican Springs into the Weaver-Zia People Clan for the Red Running into the Water People Clan.

Survivors include son, Timothy James Chischilly of Mexican Springs; daughters, Bernice Etsitty, Laverne Chischilly, Mary Ann Chischilly, Marlene James, Jennifer Chischilly, Mildred Chischilly of Gallup; sister, Fannie Talley of Mexican Springs; 16 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren.

Chischilly was preceded in death by husband, James Chischilly; parents, John Barney Sr., Yanazbah (Etsitty) Barney; brothers, John Barney Jr., Felix Barney; sister, Ella Nez.

Pallbearers will be Bartholomew Humphrey, Bryce Etsitty, Winston Talley, Myron Bitsilly, Broderick Etsitty, Christopher Smith.

Tse Bonito Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.
