Ancient Way goes beyond its roots

By Elizabeth Hardin-Burrola

With the arrival of autumn and the harvest season, the Ancient Way Fall Festival is set to begin in local communities around the Zuni Mountains.

The annual festival, which begins this weekend and concludes next weekend, originally just stretched along scenic New Mexico Highway 53, from Grants to El Morro and Ramah and the Zuni Pueblo. This year the festival is expanding to include events in Gallup and Crownpoint and even a music festival a week later in Acoma Pueblo.

Organizers of the festival have released the following events schedule, but all activities are subject to change, particularly due to weather conditions.
