Marlene Jaure

GRANTS — Services for Marlene Jaure, 52, will be 10 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 20 at St. Teresa of Avila Catholic Church. Very Rev. Alberto Avella will be the celebrant. Burial will follow at Grants Memorial Park. Visitation will be Friday, Oct. 19 from 2-5 p.m. at Compassion Mortuary. A rosary will be 7 p.m. Friday, Oct. 19 at St. Teresa of Avila Catholic Church.

Jaure died Oct. 12, 2007 in Grants. She was born June 17, 1955 in Grants.

Survivors include father, Pablo Jaure of Grants; sisters, Barbara Jaure of Las Cruces, June Jaure of Grants, Mildred Prince of Grants, Rosie Wingfield of Hobbs, Christine Garcia of Laguna; brothers; Jerry Jaure of Grants, Timo Jaure of Las Vegas, Walter Jaure of Grants, Johnny Jaure of Milan, Lizardo Jaure of Grants, Silviano Jaure of Grants, Joseph Jaure of Belen, Dennis Chavez of Texas, Clifford Chavez of San Rafael, Larry Chavez of Denver.

She was preceded in death by mother, Dulce “Candy” Jaure; brothers, Daniel Jaure, Henry Chavez; sisters, Jeannete Jaure, Vangie Wheller.

Pallbearers will be Jerry Jaure, Timo Jaure, Walter Jaure, Johnny Jaure, Lizardo Jaure, Silviano Jaure, Joseph Jaure, Dennis Chavez, Larry Chavez and Clifford Chavez.


Alan Peaker

MILAN — Services for Daniel Alan Peaker, 47, will be 6 p.m. Friday, Oct. 19 at Compassion Mortuary.

Peaker died Oct. 6, 2007 in Milan. He was born Aug. 30, 1960 in China Lake, Calif.

He was employed with the Grants Cibola County Schools as a substitute teacher.

Survivors include wife, Julie Peaker of Milan; parents, Judith Sedberry of Grants, Charles Peaker of Iowa; sisters, Terri Lynch, Penny Kimball both of Milan; brothers, Thomas Peaker of Grants, Gary Sedberry of Milan.


Wilbert Hunt

ACOMA — Services for Wilbert “Blue Sky Eagle” E. Hunt, 99, were 1 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 16 at Compassion Mortuary. A traditional wake was Tuesday, Oct. 16 from Sundown till 11 a.m. Thursday at the family home in Acoma Pueblo. Burial was be 2 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 18 at the Santa Fe National Cemetery.

Hunt died Oct. 13, 2007 in Acoma. He was born Oct. 22, 1907 in Acoma.

He is preceded in death by wife, Vedna Hunt; parents, Edward Practor Hunt, Marie Vallo Hunt.


Joe Naize

CHINLE — Services for Joe Naize were 10 a.m. Oct. 13 at the Chinle Catholic Church. Father Blane officiated. Burial was at Black Mountain Community Cemetery.

Naize died Oct. 6, 2007 in Albuquerque. He was born Dec. 11, 1938 in Chinle into the Red Bottom People Clan for the Honey Comb Rock People Clan.

He attended Intermountain School and courses in Lock Smith. Naize was a locksmith for the Navajo Nation. He Conducted NAC meetings and was atraditional person. He worked on railroads in his early years.

Survivors include wife, Elaine Shorty; sons, Joe Naize Jr., Larry, Julius; daughter, Julie Montoya; brothers, Johnny, David, Jimmie, Reid Jr.; sisters, Phyllis James, Virginia Gorman, Sarah, Arlene, Nancy Naize-Nez; two grandchildren.

Naize was preceded in death by parents, Reid F. and Sadie Naize; sister, Lorene Naize.

Pallbearers were Danny Bitsui, David Naize, Joe Naize Jr., Edwin Whitesinger, Kenney White, Johnny Naize, Hansen Bitsui. Silver Creek Mortuary was in charge of arrangements
