Zonnie Clark
BLACKROCK, Ariz. Funeral service for Zonnie Clark will
be 9 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 23 at Chinle Presbyterian Church, Chinle.
Pastor Ray Yazzie will officiate. Burial will be at Del Muerto
community cemetery, Del Muerto, Ariz.
Clark died Thursday Oct. 19, 2007 in Blackrock. She was born
March 31, 1928 into the Coyote Pass People Clan for the One Who
Walks Around People Clan.
Her hobbies included being a homemaker, sheepherding, weaving,
sewing, watching wrestling, spending time with family and grandkids.
Survivors included her four sons; five daughters; brother, Guy
Yazzie Teller of Chinle; 41 grandchildren; 35 great-grandchildren;
one great great-grandchild.
Clark was preceded in death by husband, Herman H. Clark; two
sons; nine brothers; one sister; parents, Ford and Ahenabah Teller.
Pallbearers will be family members.
A reception will be at the Del Muerto Community Church.
Tse Bonito Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.
Frank Tom
CONTINENTAL DIVIDE Funeral services for Frank Tom, 100,
will be 10 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 23 at the Jesus Christ of the Latter-Day
Saints, Thoreau. Ernest Largo will officiate. Burial will be in
Thoreau Cemetery. Visitation will be at LDS on Oct. 23 at 10 a.m.
Tom died Oct. 18, 2007 in Gallup. He was born July 16, 1907 in
Leupp, Ariz. into the Bitter Water People Clan for the Edgewater
People Clan.
He went to Santa Fe Indian School, Santa Fe and worked for 25
years as a Union Carpenter. Tom was a well-known medicine man
and received a Navajo Nation Medicine Man Association award, and
an award for maintaining Navajo Teaching. His hobbies include
his tending his cornfield, watching martial art movies, beading,
spending time with his grandchildren.
Survivors include sons, Danny Tom of Thoreau, Freddie Tom of
Continental Divide; daughters, Ellen K. Tom of Continental Divide,
Helen McCleary of Grants, Lorene Tom of Albuquerque, Sarah Tom
of Grants, Dixie Gleason of Albuquerque, Betty Thompson of Albuquerque,
Christine Henio of Albuquerque, Kathy Salcido of Thoreau; 20 grandchildren;
12 great-grandchildren.
Tom was preceded in death by wife, Francis Mariano Tom; son,
Alfred Amos Kein; parents, Lady Singer and Charlie Frank; brother,
Jack Frank; sister, Mary Tsaipi and two grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Freddie Tom, Danny Tom, Shawn Ramone, Ron
Gleason, Nick McCleary, Michael Romero.
The family will receive relatives and friends at Thoreau Chapter
House at 2 p.m., after services.
Rollie Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.
Ruth Puroll
SILVERDALE, Wash. Funeral mass for Ruth E. Puroll, 79,
will be 10 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 24 at St. Vivian Catholic Church
in Milan. Burial will follow at the Pioneer Memorial Cemetery
in Bluewater. Father Jeff King will be the celebrant. Rosary will
be 7 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 23 at Compassion Mortuary.
Puroll died Oct. 12, 2007 in Silverdale. She was born June 14,
1928 in Humboldt Township, Mich.
Survivors include sons, Tom Puroll of Grants, Bill Puroll of
Silverdale, Richard Puroll of Casa Grande, Ariz.; daughters, Gail
Jaramillo of Glendale, Mary Council of Bluewater; sisters, Martha
Hill of Chassell of Michigan, Lora Sloan of Orange County; brothers,
Eli Mattila of Silverdale, Fred Mattila of Republic, Mich., David
Mattila of Republic, Ron Mattila of Republic, Francis Mattila
of Republic.
Puroll is preceded in death by her husband, Walter Puroll; parents,
William Mattila and Helvi Mattila.
Pallbearers will be Tim Puroll, Kris Puroll, Dusty Jaramillo,
Thomas Council, Jeff Council, Cody Council.
