Local man sought by marshals

GALLUP — The U.S. Marshals Service is seeking Tyrone Willeto Becenti for violating supervised release conditions.

The U.S. District Court of New Mexico issued an arrest warrant on Oct. 14 charging Becenti with violation of his release condition for absconding from an Albuquerque halfway house after testing positive for the use of alcohol.
Becenti was originally indicted for involuntary

manslaughter as a result of an incident where a juvenile died after being ejected from the vehicle that Becenti was driving while intoxicated. Becenti was sentenced to five months in prison and three years of supervised release.
While on supervised release, Becenti was found guilty of felon in possession of a firearm and sentenced to 37 months in custody and three years of supervision. He was required to reside at the halfway house for six months as part of the supervision.

Becenti is a 27-year-old Native American male, 5 feet 8 inches, 160 pounds, with brown eyes and brown hair. He has a tattoo “Ty” on his right arm and scars on left knee and on left hip. He also has tattoos on his chest, left wrist and left arm. He has gone by the aliases of Ty Becenti and Ty Beecnti. Becenti was born in Gallup and his last known place of employment was Narrow Leaf Landscaping in Albuquerque.

Becenti should be considered dangerous. Anyone with information is asked to call the U.S. Marshals Service at (505) 346-6400.
