Alice Pinkston
GRANTS Funeral Mass for Alice Pinkston, 89, will be 10
a.m. Saturday, Oct. 27 at St. Vivian Catholic Church in Milan.
Very Rev. Alberto Avella will officiate. Burial will follow in
Grants Memorial park. A rosary will be recited 7 p.m. Friday,
Oct. 26 at St. Vivian Catholic Church.
Pinkston died Oct. 23, 2007 in Albuquerque. She was born Nov.
30, 1917 in Colorado.
She and her son were the owners of Pinkston Day and Night in
Milan since 1957.
Survivors include her son, Howard Pinkston of Grants; brothers,
Vince James of Denver, John James of Poncha Springs, Colo., Joe
James of Casper, Wyo., Jimmy James of Grand Junction, Colo., Fred
James of Sun City West, Ariz.; sisters, Lorraine Alfonso of Trinidad,
Colo., Mitzi Staples of Milan, Rosalie Spicola of Denver; three
grandchildren.
Pinkston was preceded in death by her husband, F.L. Pinkston;
parents, Dominic and Rose James; daughter, Sherry Braun; brother,
Ralph James; sister, Josephine Gettings.
Pallbearers will be Andrew Pinkston, Phillip Pinkston, Stephen
Pinkston, Willie Jones, Aaron Dean, Phil Danzel.
Vernon Long
ROCKSPRINGS Services are pending for Vernon Max Long,
40.
Long died on Wednesday, Oct. 24, 2007. He was born March 16,
1967 in Gallup.
A family meeting will be 7 p.m. today, Oct. 26 at Rocksprings
Chapter House.
Pete Espinosa
SOCCORO Services are pending for Pete C. Espinosa, 86.
Espinosa died Thursday, Oct. 25, 2007 in Socorro. He was born
May 29, 1921 in Navajo.
Margaret Mego
STEAMBOAT, ARIZ. Funeral services for Margaret Tabaha
Mego, 84, will be 10 a.m. on Saturday, Oct. 27 at the St. Michaels
Catholic Church in St. Michaels. Father Gilbert Schneider, OFM,
will officiate. Burial will be in the family plot, Steamboat.
Visitation will be one hour prior to services at 9 a.m.
Mego died Oct. 22, 2007 in Gallup. She was born Jan. 20, 1923
in Steamboat into the Coyote Pass People Clan for the Bitter Water
People Clan.
She attended St. Michaels Indian School. Her hobbies included
rug weaving and she was a traditional Navajo medicine person.
Survivors include her sons, Kee Bernard Mego of Riverside, Calif.,
Chester Mego of Fort Defiance; daughters, Evelyn Shay of Ganado,
Joann Mego of Red Lake; 27 grandchildren; 46 great-grandchildren;
three great-great-grandchildren.
Mego was preceded in death by son, Edward Mego; mother, Nasbah
Tsinniginnie; husband, John H. Mego.
Pallbearers will be Brian Mego, Cedric Tenekio, Jonathan Tenekio,
Derick Tenekio, Andrew Begay, Johnny Begay.
The family will receive relatives and friends at the family residence
in Steamboat, following services.
Silver Creek Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.
