Megan Sampson
BLACKHAT Funeral services for Megan
Rae Sampson, 16, will be 9 a.m., Saturday, July 12, at the Hogan
Nizhoni, Blackhat. The Rev. Bob Huber will officiate. Burial will
be in Gallup City Cemetery.
Sampson died July 7, 2008, in Albuquerque.
She was born April 24, 1992, in Gallup, into the Mountain Cove
People Clan for the Red Running Into the Water People Clan.
Sampson attended Chee Dodge Elementary
School, Gallup Mid School, Gallup High School, and Rio Rancho
High School. She was in JROTC at Gallup High School. She enjoyed
writing poetry, taking care of her pets and being around kids.
Survivors include her mother, Gloria Sampson
of Blackhat; brothers, Ryan Sampson of Gallup, Robert Sampson
of Wyoming, Orin Sampson of Blackhat; sister, Myra White of Albuquerque;
grandparents, Bahe and Rose Etsitty of Blackhat, Curley Sampson
of Gallup.
Sampson was preceded in death by her father,
Robert Sampson.
Rollie Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.
John Scott Jr.
FORT DEFIANCE Funeral services
for John Scott Jr., 74, will be 10 a.m., Saturday, July 12, at
the family church, Assembly of God, Fort Defiance. Sister Margaret
Bill will officiate. Burial will be in family plot, Coal Mine,
Ariz.
Scott died July 6, 2008, in Albuquerque.
He was born Feb. 15, 1934, in Fort Defiance, into the Red Running
into the Water People Clan for the Edge Water People Clan.
Scott worked at Window Rock High School
District #8 as a janitor for 25 years. His hobbies included taking
walks, being with his dogs, and all livestock, going to church,
hauling wood and joking with people.
Survivors include his wife, Angela Scott;
sons, Roland Scott, Juan Scott, Durando Scott; daughter, Angie
Scott; father, John Scott Sr.; sisters, Shirley Milford, Annie
Milford, Emma Platero, Mary Gordy; six grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Abel Thompson Sr.,
Derrick Gordy, Durando Scott, Lorenzo Gordy, Bruce Milford, Brian
Becenti.
The family will receive relatives and
friends at Shirley Milfords residence, following services.
Silver Creek Mortuary is in charge of
arrangements.
Lourdonna Yazzie
TSAILE Services for Lourdonna Kay
Yazzie, 42, were 10 a.m., today, July 11, at the Tsaile Community
Church. Lynn Cartwright officiated. Burial was in Community Cemetery,
Lukachukai.
Yazzie died July 7, 2008, in Fort Defiance.
She was born March 13, 1966, in Lukachukai, into the Red Bottom
People Clan for the Bitter Water People Clan.
Yazzie was a homemaker.
Survivors include her sons, Tyrone Yazzie,
Tyran Yazzie, Tyson Yazzie, all of Tsaile; daughters, Henryalita
K. Charley of Salt Lake City, Ut., Bettina Yazzie of Tsaile; parents,
Lee Charley, Nellie Charley; brothers, Orlando Lee Charley, Lorenzo
Benally, both of Tsaile, Antonio Lee Charley of Many Farms; sisters,
Lenora K. Charley of Red Mesa, Luella Charley of Wheatfields,
Leana M. Charley, Levonda Charley, Noami Charley, Shonna Charley,
all of Tsaile; six grandchildren.
Yazzie was preceded in death by her grandparents,
Edna Chee Lee, brother, Johnny Ray Scott; sister, Lawanda K. Charley.
Pallbearers were Tyson D. Yazzie, Antonio
Charley, Alexander Nez, Leroy Benally, Thomas Tsosie, Earl Kenny.
Silver Creek Mortuary was in charge of
arrangements.
