Honors for a firefighter
On Sept. 17, a funeral was held for Andy Carabajal. He had served more than 20 years, and had retired from his position as fire marshal. Throughout his life, he was very active in a wide variety of community organizations. Carabajal had lost a battle with cancer. He was 62. "Mr. Carabajal was what I would call one of Gallup's jewels. He was dedicated to putting his personal hours back into the community," Gallup Fire Commander Raymond Ross said.
