GALLUP — A fight between sisters Monday sent one to the emergency room and the other to jail.

The fight started when Pamela Damon, 25, and Theresa Damon, 31, of Gamerco, were drinking at home, according to McKinley County Sheriff’s Deputy Owen Peña’s report. Theresa Damon admitted to repeatedly battering Pamela Damon, causing a hemorrhage “that was consistent with her face being fractured.”

The fight started in a bedroom and moved to the porch where Pamela Damon eventually lost consciousness. Theresa Damon said she had been antagonized and struck multiple times by her sister. However Peña notes that Theresa Damon did not appear to have suffered any injuries. Their mother, who was present at the time the fight occurred, said it started because they were drunk.

Theresa Damon was arrested on one count of aggravated battery against a household member, a misdemeanor. Pamela Damon was transported to Gallup Indian Medical Center.
