services for Wilma J. Becenti, 36, will be 10 a.m., Wednesday,
Sept. 24, at Rehoboth Christian Reformed Church. The Rev. Stanley
Jim will officiate. Burial will be in Gallup City Cemetery.
Becenti died Sept. 19,
2008, in Flagstaff. She was born Nov. 7, 1971, in Gallup, into
the Mountain Cove People Clan for the Chiricahua Apache People
Clan.
Becenti received her high
school diploma from Gallup High School in 1990 and earned a B.S.
degree from New Mexico State University in Animal Science Pre-Vet
in 1994. She was employed by the Navajo Nation EPA for 13 years
as a senior environmental specialist; USDA Americorps National
Services; and was a veterinarian technician for Gallup Cedar Animal
Clinic. In college she was on the NMSU Deans List, Crimson
Scholar, Alpha Beta Gamma Honor Society, Pre-Vet Club, Sam Steele
Society, Chief Manuelito scholar, and NMSU Alumni Association.
Becenti served as a volunteer science fair judge for public schools
on the Navajo Nation, and Tohatchi Adopt-A-Highway litter control
program. She earned awards for excellence with the Navajo EPA
Water Quality, and certificates. She was a Hereford cattle grower,
sheep producer, horse buyer, and ranch hand.
Survivors include her
husband, Bryant R. Becenti; parents, Alice J. Arviso-Bitsie, Leslie
Bitsie Sr.; sisters, Winona Bitsie, W.J. Bitsie; brothers, Leland
Bitsie, Lloyd Bitsie, Lyn Bitsie,
Leslie Bitsie Jr.
Becenti was preceded in
death by her grandparents, Joe J. and Nellie B. Arviso; Leo and
Jane Bitsie; great-grandparents, Charley C. and Bah Arviso, Kee
and Jane Ortiz Bitsilly.

in Denver. He was born April 13, 1953, in Gallup.

Padilla died Sept. 22,
2008, in Grants. He was born Sept. 19, 1922, in Maquino, N.M.
Padilla was a lifelong
resident of Grants and worked for the city of Grants for many
years and in the uranium mines. He was also self employed selling
snow cones and enjoying doing wood work as a hobby.
Survivors include his
wife, Augustina Moya Padilla of Grants; sons, Mel Padilla of San
Rafael, Ronnie Padilla of Grants, Ruben Padilla of Grants, Clarence
Padilla of Grants, Ernest Padilla of Grants, Steve Padilla of
Grants, Victor Padilla of Woodward, Okla.; daughters, Marcella
Vigil of Milan, Ida Sanchez of Mesa, Denise Pohl of Grants, Debbie
Sanchez of Albuquerque, Geraldine Padilla of Grants; sister, Daisy
Saavedera of Grants; 41 grandchildren; 55 great-grandchildren;
two great-great-grandchildren.

2008, in Ganado. She was born March 21, 1941, in Kinlichee, into
the Towering House People Clan for the Salt People Clan.
Tsosie attended Phoenix
Indian School. She worked at Ramons Restaurant, Moyas
Inc.. Tsosie enjoyed walking and caring for her grandchildren.
Survivors include her
husband, Henry Carl Tsosie Sr. of Ganado; sons, Henry C. Tsosie
Jr. of Rough Rock, Michael C. Tsosie of Coyote Canyon, Darryl
Tsosie of Farmington; daughters, Sarah Curtis of Kinlichee, Genevieve
Curley of Ganado, Cindy Tsosie of Ganado; sisters, Mae Lewis of
Cool Field, Ariz., Caroline Tsosie of Kinlichee, Evelyn Lewis
of Ganado, Amelia Lewis of Page; 28 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren.
Tsosie was preceded in
death by her parents, Hoskie and Ruth Lewis; brother, Wally Lewis;
sister, Evangeline Tsosie; daughter, Deborah Lee.
