Phil Ashley

ALBUQUERQUE — Services for Phil Ashley, 43, will be announced at a later date. Ashley died Nov. 4, 2008 in Albuquerque. He was born May 10, 1965 in Zuni.
Compassion Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.

Loretta Benally

BECENTI — Funeral Mass for Loretta C. Benally, 89, will be at 10 a.m., Thursday, Nov. 6 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Farmington. Burial will follow at Memory Garden in Farmington. A rosary will be recited at St. Mary’s Church 30 minutes prior to services at the church.

Benally died Nov. 3 in Gallup. She was born Feb. 15, 1919 in Pinedale, N.M.

Survivors include her sons Johnson Benally Jr., Al J. Benally, Bensen Benally Sr.; daughters Mary F. Joe, Barbara Whitehair, Marjorie Lantana, Bonnie Yazzie; brothers Ernie Cowboy, Bennie S. Cowboy, Willeto Vicenti, Vincent Vicenti, Dan Vicenti; sisters Nuse Capital, Nancy Norton; 20 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by Johnson Benally Sr.

Pallbearers will be Benson Benally Jr., Garrick Norton, Chambliss Lantana, Irowin Whitehair.
The family will receive relatives and friends at St. Mary’s Hall in Farmington

Barry F. Cave

ALBUQUERQUE — Barry F. Cave, 69, passed away in Albuquerque on Oct. 26, 2008.  He is survived by his wife of 43 years, Susan, brother Jeremy and sister Jennifer as well as numerous in-laws and nieces and nephews.  Barry was born in Birmingham, England and after coming to the US, lived in many places before settling in Gallup where he was a teacher from 1974 until his retirement in 1995.  After retirement he moved to Albuquerque where he spent his time golfing, RVing and gardening.  A scholarship will be established in his memory to be awarded by the Gallup-McKinley County Schools.  Donations may be sent to: Susan Cave, PO Box 66292, Albuquerque, NM 87193.

Maryn Eversole

BLUEWATER — Services for Maryn Glenbah Eversole, 25, will be at 11 a.m., Wednesday, Nov. 5 at Rehoboth Christian Reformed Church in Rehoboth. The Rev. Layloni Drake will officiate. Burial will follow at Rehoboth Mission Cemetery.

Eversole died Nov. 1, 2008 in rural Cibola County. She was born Nov, 23, 1982 in Gallup for the Folded Arms People Clan.

She attended schools in Gallup and graduated from Rehoboth High School in 2001. She graduated from UNM in Albuquerque and was employed there at the time of her death.
Survivors include her parents Mark Eversole and Pauline Platero Eversole of Bluewater; brothers Paul Eversol, Jared Eversole, both of Bluewater; grandparents Dorothy Eversole of Bluewater, Bessie Platero of Borrego Pass, N.M.
She was preceded in death by her grandfather Paul Eversole.

Pallbearers will be Mark Eversole, paul Eversole, Lee Eversole, Johnny Notah, Thomas Platero, Leo Platero, Mario Platero and Gregory Nourse.

Freddie Taliman

CORNFIELDS, Ariz. — Services for Freddie Isaac Taliman, 63, will be at 10 a.m., Thursday, Nov. 6 at Sacred Heart Cathedral in Gallup. The Rev. O’Keefe will officate. Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Cemetery in Gallup.

Taliman died Nov. 1, 2008 in Fort Defiance, Ariz. He was born May 22, 1946 in Cornfields into the Charcoal Streaked Division of the Red Running Into the Water People Clan for the Honey Combed Rock People Clan.

Survivors include his wife Betty Taliman of Lupton, Ariz.; sons Jesse Taliman of Fort Defiance, Jeremy Taliman, Donté Taliman, both of Cornfields; daughters Yilee Taliman of Albuquerque, Carolee Taliman of Gallup; parents Isaac Taliman and Mary Roanhorse Brown; brothers Peterson Taliman of Navajo Station, Ariz., Cato Taliman of Ganado; sisters Lois Todacheenie of Chinle, Garnet Smith of Navajo Station, Alberta Yazzie of Burnside, Mary Ann Arnold of Red Mesa, Rena Taliman of Querino, Ariz., Marie Taliman of Albuquerque; nine grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Jesse Taliman, Jeremy Taliman, Donté Taliman, Richard Maris Sr., Robert Arnold and Perry James.

Cope Memorial Chapel is in charge of arrangements.

Betsy Taliwood 

SHIPROCK — Funeral Services for Betsy Taliwood, 66, will be announced at a later date. Taliwood died Nov. 1, 2008 in Farmington. She was born May 20, 1942 in Sanostee, N.M.

Norman Tsosie 

NASCHITTI — Services for Norman Sorrell Tsosie, 48, will be at 10 a.m., Thursday, Nov. 6 at Naschitti Christian Reformed Church.  Interment will follow at Naschitti Community Cemetery.

Tsosie died Friday, October 31, 2008 at Naschitti.  He was born March 10, 1960 in Fort Defiance.
