Two men charged with drug trafficking Copyright © 2008 GALLUP Local narcotics officers have been busy, arresting one man on Halloween and two men Tuesday night. Friday night Delbert Hicks, 41, attempted to sell cocaine to an undercover member of the Middle Rio Grand Valley Drug Task Force. Agents found Hicks in possession of 1.7 grams of cocaine in five packages and 1/20 of an ounce of marijuana in four packages, according to task force spokesman Lt. George Justice. Hicks was arrested on trafficking, possession and conspiracy-to-traffic charges after attempting to make the sale in a parking lot at 200 Marguerite Street, Justice said. William Johnson, 41, of Gallup, was arrested on cocaine-trafficking charges Tuesday night. At Gallup McKinley Adult Detention Center, agents also booked Johnson on charges related to an outstanding arrest warrant for contributing to the delinquency of a minor, abusing a child and distributing marijuana. Also Tuesday night, agents arrested Derrick Shirley, 31, of Gallup, after finding him in possession of more than one pound of marijuana. At the time of his arrest, Shirley was illegally carrying concealed brass knuckles, according to Justice. |
