Matthew Anderson

SAWMILL — Funeral Mass for Matthew Alex Anderson, 21, will be 10 a.m. May 15, at the Sacred Heart Cathedral, Gallup. Father O’Keefe will officiate. Burial will be in Gallup City Cemetery. Rosary will be 7 p.m., tonight, May 14, at the Our Lady of Blessed Sacrament, Fort Defiance.

Anderson died May 10, 2008, in Sawmill. He was born April 2, 1987, in Fort Defiance, into the Bitter Water People Clan for the Sleepy Rock People Clan.

Anderson graduated from Window Rock High School in 2005. He was temporarily employed with the Navajo Nation Museum. He loved the outdoors and was very artistic.

Survivors include his son, DeShawn Raymond Anderson of Sawmill; parents, Trudi Anderson of Sawmill, Brian Wauneka of Deer Springs; brothers, Shawn Anderson, Nicholas Murray, Justin Dedman of Sawmill; grandmother, Marian Anderson of Sawmill.

Anderson was preceded in death by his grandfather, Raymond Anderson.

Pallbearers will be Shawn Anderson, Tom Yazzie III, Christopher Cochran, Al Stewart Jr., and Jacoby Chee.

Cope Memorial Chapel is in charge of arrangements.

Ernest Keedah

GAMERCO — Services are pending for Ernest E. Keedah, 2.

Keedah died Thursday, Feb. 14, 2008, in Gallup.

He was born Oct. 2, 1935, in Toadlena, into the Red Bottom People Clan/Tewa for the Towering House People Clan.

Rollie Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.

Robert Martin

PINEDALE — Funeral services for Robert Martin, 78, will be 10 a.m. May 15, at the Cope Memorial Chapel, Gallup. Burial will be in family plot, Pinedale (2nd Canyon). Visitation will be 3-5 p.m., today, May 14, at the Cope Memorial Chapel.

Martin died May 8, 2008, in Pinedale. He was born Dec. 29, 1929, in Pinedale, into the Two Who Came into the Water People Clan for the Water Flows Together People Clan.

Martin worked with the Santa Fe Railroad for 39 years. He retired with Santa Fe Railroad of Topelea, Kan., Burlington Railroad, Union Pacific, Ice Park of Denver, Colo., DRG, Santa Fe Railroad. Martin also received many safety awards, being employed with the railroad. He also enjoyed doing crossword puzzles, loved to take care of livestock, going to the casino and spending his time with his wife, daughter, grandkids and nanas.

Survivors include his wife, Christine R. Martin of Pinedale; daughters, Janice Martin of Pinedale; sisters, Helen Livingston of Naschitti, Irene Harry of Pinedale; four grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren.

Martin was preceded in death by his mother, Lucille Largo Martin, father, Sam Grey Jr.; sisters, Sarah Williams, Mattie Brown, Lillian Martin; brother, John Martin; step-father, Charley Martin; step-mother, Fannie Grey.

Pallbearers will be Luxey Irving, Al John, Carlos Tsosie, Mike Harry, Bill Martin Jr., and Clifford Martin.

The family will receive relatives and friends at Pinedale Chapter, following services.

Cope Memorial Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
