statement

GALLUP — High on a windswept, wooded hill overlooking Gallup, the Sacred Heart Retreat Center offers visitors a physical and spiritual retreat from the busyness and distractions of everyday life.

The center, operated by the Diocese of Gallup, was founded by Bishop Jerome J. Hastrich as a place of spiritual retreat in 1978. In recent years, the center has developed a ministry of offering group retreats, days of prayers, and evening spiritual programs throughout the year. Individuals can also arrange private retreats at the center, and the facilities are available for rent for meetings and workshops.

Sacred Heart Retreat Center is located off New Mexico Highway 602, just south of Gallup.
