Quemado offers a glimpse of New Mexico’s past

GRANTS — Looking for a lot of New Mexico in a little bit of time? In a two-hour drive through lava fields, mesas, park and pasture — range land in New Mexico — and volcanic peaks on the road to the little town of Quemado visitors will find a taste of much of what the area has to offer.

From Interstate Highway 40 take exit 89 to N.M. Highway 117 south and follow the road.
