Diné Ed leaders push cultural schooling

WINDOW ROCK — The Department of Diné Education submitted its quarterly report for the third quarter of fiscal year 2009 detailing the department’s activities, accomplishments and recommendations. The third quarter covers the period from April 1 to June 30.

The department had a strategic planning session in June with 11 program directors and 10 Navajo doctoral professionals. The goals was to “create and design a concrete and productive Navajo educational system.” The session had the theme “Shaping the future of Diné education” and four panels were held.
