GALLUP — Police responded to a report of shots fired at the Gallup Sports Complex late Wednesday morning, after a park employee thought he heard a bullet cut through the air overhead.

Police responded enforce as a precaution, however, the report was never substantiated, according to Gallup Police Sgt. Matt Wright. Police searched for signs of gunfire — combing the grounds for spent casings — but none were found, Wright said.
