NAVAJO — Services are pending for Valaunia “Erin” Curley, 20.

Curley died Friday, Aug. 21, 2009, in Yahtahey. She was born Dec. 9, 1988, in Fort Defiance, into the Bitter Water People Clan for the Coyote By Pass People Clan.

Isaac Frazier

GALLUP — Services are pending for Isaac N. Frazier, 61.

Frazier died Wednesday, Aug. 19, 2009, in Albuquerque. He was born Aug. 12, 1948, in New Orleans, La.

Dennison Parker

MANUELITO — Funeral services for Dennison Parker, 81, will be 10 a.m., Monday, Aug. 24, at Rollie Mortuary, Gallup. Burial will be in Gallup City Cemetery.

Parker died Aug. 18, 2009, in Manuelito. He was born Sept. 1, 1927, in Rocky Point, into the Black Streak of Forest People Clan for the Edge Water People Clan.

Parker enjoyed being with family and friends and enjoyed nature walks. She was very well liked by family.

Survivors include her sisters, Pauline Arviso of Manuelito, Mattie Jack of Kirtland, Bessie Martin of Manuelito, Marilyn Roanhorse of Manuelito.

Parker was preceded in death by his parents, Lendre Parker, Lillie Parker; brothers, Frank, Jessie, Lennie, Lee.

Pallbearers will be Colin J. Francis, Delwin K. Francis, Charlie Lee, Anthony Ashley, Arnold Etsitty, Lawrence K. Silversmith.

Joseph Quicero

GAMERCO — Services are pending for Joseph A. Quicero, 61.

Quicero died Thursday, Aug. 20, 2009, in Albuquerque. He was born Dec. 13, 1947, in Casa Blanca, into the Bitter Water People Clan for the Laguna Pueblo People Clan.

A community gathering for friends and relatives will be 5 p.m., tonight, Aug. 22, at Churchrock Chapter House.

Dorothy Short

MILAN — Funeral services for Dorothy Alice Short, 66, will be 11 a.m., Monday, Aug. 24, at Compassion Mortuary. Burial will be in Grants Memorial Park. Visitation will be 11 a.m., Monday, Aug. 24, at Compassion Mortuary.
Short died Aug. 19, 2009, in Albuquerque. She was born Oct. 12, 1942, in Albuquerque.

Survivors include her son, Jerry Shumate of Milan; daughter, Rita Rathbone of Phoenix; brother, William Short of Dallas, Texas; sisters, Mary Katherine Slama of Madera, Calif., Anita Grady of Albuquerque, Dora Short of Madera, Calif.; six grandchildren; four great-grandchildren.

Short was preceded in death by her parents, Amos Short, Margaret Quintana Short; brother, John Quintana.

Pallbearers will be Jerry Shumate, Tim Shumate, Craig Salavdor, Don Elliot.
