GRANTS — School district officials say holding schools accountable for what students learn is not only acceptable with them, but they want it that way.

However, holding schools accountable when the rules are changed every year, when the minimum standards are constantly increased to higher levels means that it is not only improbable but nearly impossible for school districts to have schools meet the Annual Yearly Progress standards set by the New Mexico Public Education Department.
