GALLUP — Area vets met at Don Diego’s Restaurant Friday to discuss a variety of veteran’s issues.

Gallup resident Judy Detorie addressed the group of about 25 vets to tell them of the project she was working on where she sends 20-pound flat-rate boxes to soldiers in Iraq and Afghanistan filled with items they need. At www.anysoldier.com, anybody who wants to donate items such as prepackaged snacks, toothpaste, CDs, DVDs, batteries, towels, razors and toothbrushes can either mail it to the address listed on the Web site, or contact Detorie at 722-2667.
