Controller details more Diné budget woes

WINDOW ROCK — The fiscal year 2009 budget year ends Sept. 30 for the Navajo Nation and by then maybe the Office of the Controller and the Office of Management and Budget will have a firm figure on this fiscal year’s budget shortfall.

At an Aug. 4 meeting of the Budget and Finance Committee, the shortfall for FY09 was projected at $14.1 million and that was expected to lead to an $18 million shortfall for FY2010.
