Adopho Aragon

MAGDALENA — Rosary for Adopho “Fito” Aragon, 77, will be 10 a.m., Monday, Sept. 7, at Saint Mary’s Catholic Church in Magdalena. Funeral Mass and burial will follow.

Aragon died Wednesday, September 2, 2009, Magdalena. He was born on June 2, 1932, in Polvadera.

Aragon was a lifelong rancher and cowboy, known for his rodeo talent and horse training abilities.

Survivors include his children, Adolph Aragon Jr. of Grants, Cynthia Aragon Stanaland, Allen Aragon, Alex Aragon, all of Albuquerque; sister, Carnation Armijo of Albuquerque; six grandchildren.

Aragon was preceded in death by his parents, Elifas and Andelina Aragon of Polvadera; one grandson; siblings, Isidro Aragon, Lorenzo Aragon, Milo Aragon, Lala Adame, Hilda Cronk, Tony Aragon.

The family will receive relatives and friends at the parish hall, following service.

Steven Attson Sr.

CHINLE — Funeral Mass for Steven Attson Sr., 49, will be 10 a.m., Tuesday, Sept. 8, at the Jesus Christ of Latter day Saints Church, Chinle. Burial will be in private land. Visitation will be 9 a.m., Sept. 8, at the Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints Church.

Attson was born Oct. 17, 1950, in Chinle, into the Kiyanni People Clan for the Bitter Water People Clan.

Survivors include his wife, Annabelle Attson; sons, Stefen, Steren Jr., both of Farmington; daughters, Arlinda Attson, Tiffany Attson, Stephanie A. Tsosie, all of Farmington; mother, Louise Tsinnijinnie of Chinle; brothers, Leroy Tsinnijinnie of Shiprock, Anslon Tsinnijinnie of Kayenta, Peterson Tsinnijinnie of Chinle; sisters, Roberta Tsinnijinnie of Phoenix, Chilly Burbank of Chinle; one grandchild.

Attson was preceded in death by his brother, Paul Tsinnijinnie.

Pallbearers will be Jerome B. Yazzie, Christopher Tsinnijinnie, Stefen Attson, Jr. Attson.

The family will receive relatives and friends at Louise Tsinnijinnie’s house at MHH#32, 3/4 east of Mustang Store, at 6 p.m.

Tse Bonito Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.

Jose Chavez

GALLUP — Funeral services for Jose L. Chavez, 92, will be 10 a.m., Tuesday, Sept. 8, at Rollie Mortuary. The Rev. Dennis Gallegos will officiate. Burial will be in Hillcrest Cemetery, Gallup.

Chavez died Sept. 2, 2009, in Gallup. He was born March 28, 1917, in El Paso, Texas.

Chavez was employed with the Santa Fe Railroad for 40 years. He enjoyed reading his bible, going to church and watching wrestling.

Survivors include his sons, Manuel Chavez, Eddy Chavez, both of Tempe; daughters, Della Rosales, Margie George, Andie Noonen of Gallup; 32 grandchildren; 56 great-grandchildren; 16 great-great-grandchildren.

Chavez was preceded in death by his wife, Antonia Escamilla Chavez; parents, Gregorio Chavez, Cruz Lopez; sister, Maria Chavez; daugher, Justina Chavez; sons, Jose L. Chavez Jr., Raymond Chavez, Steven Chaves; one granddaughter.

Pallbearers will be Sean Noonen, Michael Chavez, Alex Rosales Jr., Marc Chavez, Serafin Chavez Jr., Larry Chavez.

The family will receive relatives and friends at Knights of Columbus (KC) Hall, following service.

Rollie Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.

Lester Harloo Jr.

SANDERS — Funeral services for Lester E. Harloo Jr., 33, will be 10 a.m., Tuesday, Sept. 8, at Houck Catholic Church. Burial will be in Community Cemetery, Houck. Visitation will be 9 a.m., Sept. 8.

Harloo died Sept. 1, 2009, in Joseph City. He was born Oct. 21, 1976, in Fort Defiance, into the One Who Walks Around People Clan for the Edgewater People Clan.

Survivors include his sons, Lesiah Harloo, LeShawn Harloo, Silas Harloo, Bryson Harloo, Elijah Harloo; daughters, LeShayla Harloo, LaShante Harloo; mother, Kathleen Harloo of Seattle, Wash.; brother, Slyvester Harloo of Utah; sister, Celesta Harloo of Seattle, Wash.; grandmother, Rose Redhouse.

Harloo was preceded in death by his father, Lester Harloo Sr.; grandparents, Mary and Lee Ross.
Pallbearers will be Zachary Richards, Dominique Richards, Mario Begaye, John Espitia Jr., Lawrence Redhouse, Fernando Ruiz.
The family will meet 9 a.m., Sept. 8.

Howard Redhouse Sr.

TOHATCHI — Funeral services for Howard Redhouse Sr., 88, will be 10:30 a.m., Monday, Sept. 7, at Tohatchi Christian Reformed Church. Burial will be in Tohatchi Community Cemetery.

Redhouse died Sept. 3, 2009, in Gallup. He was born Dec. 12, 1921, in Teec Nos Pos, into the Folded Arms People Clan for the Redhouse People Clan.

Survivors include his son, Howard Redhouse Jr. of Tohatchi; daughters, Nora Redhouse, Lita Johnson of Tohatchi; brother, Cato Redhouse of Kayenta; sisters, Annabelle Harrison of Red Valley, Lena Johnson of Shiprock, Minnie Hamilton of Shiprock; five grandchildren.

Redhouse was preceded in death by his wife, Juanita Bitsie Redhouse; parents, Nancy and John; brothers, Raymond, Paul Kinlicheeny Sr.; sister, Daisy Mark.

Pallbearers will be Paul Kinlacheeny Jr., Pennison Benally, Malcom Mark, Adelbert Johnson, Fernando Redhouse, Aylmer Johnson.

The family will receive relatives and friends at Tohatchi Chapter House, following services.

Lois Todacheene

CORNFIELDS — Funeral services for Lois Dorothy Todacheene, 80, will be 10 a.m., Monday, Sept. 7, at St. Michaels Mission, St. Michaels. The Rev. Gilbert will officiate. Burial will be in Cornfields. Visitation will be 9 a.m., Monday, Sept. 7, at St. Michaels Mission.

Todacheene died Sept. 2, 2009, in Winslow. She was born Aug. 15, 1929, in Cornfields, into the Charcoal Streaked Division Red Running Into the Water People Clan for the Honey Combed Rock People Clan.

Todacheene graduated from Wingate High School and worked 30 years for the Bureau of Indian Affairs. She received an outstanding employment award and was also a voting member of the Cornfields Chapter.

Survivors include her husband, Johnson Todacheene; sons, Andrew Todacheene of Albuquerque, Randolph Todacheene of Farmington, Darryl Todacheene of Gallup; daughter, Wilhelmina Benally of Gallup; brothers, Peterson Taliman of Navajo, Cota Taliman of Ganado; sisters, Garnet Smith of Navajo Station, Alberta Yazzie of Burnside, Maryanne Arnold of Red Mesa, Rena Taliman of Quarino Canyon, Marie Taliman of Mesa; 11 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren.

Todacheene was preceded in death by her parents, Mary Brown, Isaac Taliman; daughter, Christabelle Eve Smith; sisters, Marilyn Taliman, Donna May Shirley; brother, Freddie Taliman.

Pallbearers will be Brian Benally, Randolph Todacheene, Gerald Todacheene, Jeremy Todacheene, Robert Arnold and other family members.

The family will receive relatives and friends at Cornfields Chapter House, following services.

Correction for Carlos Azua

GALLUP — Services for Carlos Richard Azua, 56, were today, Sept. 5, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. A rosary was recited at 10 a.m. Burial followed at Sunset Memorial Park.
