FORT DEFIANCE — Memorial services for Larry Benallie Sr., 67, will be 10 a.m., Wednesday, Sept. 9, at Assembly of God Church, Fort Defiance. Benallie died Sept. 3, 2009, in Fort Defiance. He was born April 17, 1942, in Fort Wingate, into the Towering House People Clan for the Bitter Water People Clan.
Survivors include his wife, Doris Benallie of Fort Defiance; sons, Larry Benallie Jr., Johnson Benallie, both of Fort Defiance, Henry McCabe of St. Michaels; daughters, Henrietta Notah, Carolyn Yazzie of Fort Defiance; Tammy Dickson of Mesa; sisters, Ruth Benallie of Scottsdale, Ethelyn Bailey of Kayenta, Wynema Holmes of Gilbert, Tina Benallie of Durango, Colo.; 13 grandchildren; one great-grandchild.
Benallie was preceded in death by his parents, Jimmie and Elizabeth Benallie; brothers James Benallie, Richard Benallie, Virgil Benallie.
