GALLUP — Gallup Fire Department swore in 31 firefighters Friday, Sept. 11 — a day which eight years ago showed the significance of the firefighters’ oath.

Municipal Judge Linda Gasparich-Padilla delivered the oath, to which all 31 firefighters are now committed, in an emotional ceremony, which wrought tears from friends and family in the audience and even from the judge herself.
