School Impact Aid controversy still brewing

GALLUP — Officials for the Gallup-McKinley County public school system said Friday that they have decided to delay plans to get Congress to change federal laws dealing with the disbursal of impact aid funds to school districts.

Ray Arsenault, superintendent for Gallup-McKinley County Schools, said the school district is working with state officials about providing adequate funding for district needs, and school officials have decided to see how that goes before pursuing the Congressional plans.
