County hurrying to get road work done Copyright © 2009 GALLUP — McKinley County road crews are racing to get several projects done in the next several weeks to avoid problems caused by Mother Nature and N.M. Gov. Bill Richardson. Mother Nature is a problem every fall as road crews try to finish as many projects as possible before the cold weather sets in, but this year is a little more intense because of fears that Richardson, looking at a shortfall that is now approaching $600 million, may decide to take back some of the funding that has been given to the county for road problems.
