WINDOW ROCK — The Navajo Nation president’s office is reporting that President Joe Shirley is not stranded in London in need of money. That’s the message that some people reportedly received on Monday through Shirley’s yahoo e-mail account.

The bogus e-mail told recipients that Shirley was stranded and needed to pay his hotel bill. The message asked for 1,000 pounds sterling — about $1,591.69 — to help him pay his travel debts, according to the president’s office. The e-mail was said to be signed “Joe.”
