72 pounds of pot found in auto Copyright © 2009 GALLUP — Motor Transportation Police seized 72 pounds of marijuana Monday at the port of entry west of Gallup, according to a news release issued Monday by Department of Public Safety spokesman Lt. Eric Garcia. During a routine inspection, an MTP officer took notice of discrepancies in a truck driver’s logbook. The inspecting officer then commenced a full inspection of the truck and its cargo, which was a load of automobiles. Inside one of the cars was a hidden compartment and inside the compartment were 16 bundles of marijuana. Garcia said the street value of the pot is about $80,000. |
