Eva Brown

CROWNPOINT — Funeral services for Eva T. Brown, 45, will be 10 a.m., Oct. 17, at Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints Church, Crownpoint. Burial will be in Crownpoint Cemetery.

Brown died Oct. 9, 2009, in Albuquerque. She was born Nov. 1, 1963, in Crownpoint, into the Salt People Clan for the Bitter Water People Clan.

Brown was employed with Borrego Pass School for 10 years as a bus driver and cook at the time of death. She was self-employed by making Kachina dolls. She liked to watch wrestling, being with her grandchildren and relatives. Her favorite hobby was to ride horses and loved to play basketball and volleyball. Brown loved to pick pinons.

Survivors include her husband, Frank Jimmie Sr. of Crownpoint; son, Frederick Jimmie of Crownpoint; daughters, Cassandra Martin, Crystal Jimmie, Ethel Jimmie, all of Crownpoint, Calandra Jimmie of Becenti, Corene Jimmie of Crownpoint, Collene Jimmie of Santa Clara; mother, Evelyn Tom of Crownpoint; brother, Alson Tom of Borrego Pass, Sherrie Brown of Littlewater; 13 grandchildren.

Brown was preceded in death by her father, Navajo Tom; brother, Emerson Tom Sr.

Pallbearers will be Frederick Jimmie, Elban Johnson, Emerick Tom, Irvin Tom Sr., Cowin Thompson, Herman Tom Sr.

The family will receive relatives and friends at Navajo Technical College Multi-purpose room, Crownpoint, following services.

Edward Jameson-Money

GALLUP— Memorial services for Edward Leon Jameson-Money, 68, will be 11 a.m., Friday, Oct. 16, at St. Paul Baptist Church, Gallup. The Rev. Reggie Joseph will officiate.

Jameson-Money died Oct. 8, 2009, in Gallup. He was born Sept. 27, 1941, in Gallup.

Jameson-Money participated in track, baseball, football and karate. He played minor league baseball for the Pittsburgh Pirates. He attended Marry State College in Okla. and Western N.M. University in Silver City. Jameson-Money was an accomplished brick layer.

Survivors include his sons, Gregory P. Money, Lionel K. Money, Brian T. Johnson, NaShawn Hill; daughter, Tysha McClendon, Candace Hill, Keneisha Hill, Anna Eddie, Maleika Hill; mother, Ethel Mae Patterson; sisters, Rena Johnson, Marilyn McKinzie, Nellie Money Sheridan, Terri Money; 16 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren.

Jameson-Money was preceded in death by his father, Leon Money; mother, Willie Mae Money; brothers, John Williams, James Stevens; sister, Darlene Upshaw.

The family will receive relatives and friends at St. Paul Missionary Baptist Church.

Wilfred Martinez

MARQUEZ — Services are pending for Wilfred Martinez, 72.

Martinez died Oct. 12, 2009, in Marquez. He was born Aug. 27, 1937, in Marguez.

Rosina Nez

NASCHITTI — Funeral services for Rosina B. Nez, 90, will be 10 a.m., Friday, Oct. 16, at Naschitti Christian Reformed. The Rev. Gladestone Simmon will officiate. Burial will be in Naschitti Community Cemetery.

Nez died Oct. 11, 2009, in Crownpoint. She was born Oct. 7, 1919, in Naschitti, into the Sleeping Rock People Clan for the Salt People Clan.
Nez attended St. Michaels school to 4th grade. She was married to a Navajo Code Talker. She was a wonderful mother, grandmother and rug weaver. Nez enjoyed all her grandchildren and she always shared what she had.

Survivors include her sons, Fred A. Nez, Hurley A. Nez, Lincoln A. Nez, Johnson A. Nez Sr., Raymond Nez, Peter A. Nez; daughters, Deborah B. Tso, Alfreida D. Nez; sister, Janice Frensico; 33 grandchildren; 42 great-grandchildren.

Nez was preceded in death by her brother, Wade Bochinclonny; husband, Arthur Nez; sons, Jimmy, Douglas, Boyd, Art; four grandsons; one granddaughter.

Pallbearers will be Lenny Nez, Ronald Nez, Wallace Nez, Lexias Nez, Johson Nez Jr., Obadiah Tso.

The family will received relatives and friends at family residence, 2 1/2 miles SE of Naschitti Trading Post.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the family.

Larry Platero

LITTLEWATER — Memorial services for Larry Platero, 57, will be 1 p.m., Oct. 17, at Hosannah Pentecost, Crownpoint. Harry Cayentenito will officiate. Burial will be in Crownpoint Community Cemetery.

Platero died Oct. 12, 2009, in Gallup. He was born Sept. 11, 1952, in Bluewater, into the Chiricahua Apache People Clan for the Salt People Clan.

Platero went to work at age 16. He worked as a miner, carpenter, highway engineer and retired from Branch of Roads in 2002. He was a team roper for NNRCA in the 1970s and 1980s., and was a softball team member for the Bravemen.
Survivors include his wife, Melinda C. Platero of Littlewater; sons, Erik P. Platero of Thoreau, Angelo Bonito of Albuquerque, Allister Benally of Littlewater, Coy Adams of Littlewater; daughters, Natalie M. Platero of Littlewater, Lane L. Platero of Littlewater, Tencha C. Espino of Fontana, Calif., Zadonna Martinez of Littlewater, Karena Riley of Crownpoint; parents, Phillip Platero of Crownpoint; brothers, Paddy Platero of Crownpoint, Ervin Platero of Dalton Pass; sisters, Faye Platero of Crownpoint, Marion Riley of Crownpoint; 13 grandchildren.

Platero was preceded in death by his mother, Mary C. Platero; brother, Freddie Platero.
Pallbearers will be Cordova R. Johnson, Paul Espino, Erik P. Platero, Harold Thompson, Russell Begay, Burt J. Garcia.

Dolores Vigil

SAN RAFAEL — Funeral Mass for Dolores C. Vigil 78, will be 10 a.m., Saturday, Oct. 17, at San Rafael Catholic Church. The Very Rev. Alberto Avella will be the celebrant. Burial will be in San Rafael Community Cemetery. Visitation will be 10 a.m.-5 p.m., Friday, Oct. 16, at Compassion Mortuary. A Rosary will be recited 7 p.m., Friday, Oct. 16, at San Rafael Catholic Church.

Vigil died Sunday, Oct. 11, 2009, in San Rafael. She was born April 14, 1931, in San Rafael.
Survivors include her husband, Filemon Vigil of San Rafael; daughters, Roberta Vigil of Albuquerque, Alica Sonneborn of Spokane, Wash., Luanna Vigil of Albuquerque; son, Filemon Vigil, Jr. of Vacaville, Calif.; sisters, Sarah Welter of Albuquerque, Abby Ricker of Grants, Jena Richardson of Henderson, Nev., Anita Erb of Moriarty, Rita Gutierrez of San Rafae; brothers, Carlos Chavez, Jr. of San Rafael, Benny Chavez of Grants, Reuben Chavez of Albuquerque, Michael Chavez of Albuquerque, Mario Chavez of Carlsbad; five grandchildren; three great-grandchildren.

Vigil was preceded in death by her parents, Carlos Chavez, Rita Chavez; sister, Isidorita "Sister" Pena.

Tyrone White

CHURCHROCK — Funeral services for Tyrone White, 23, will be 11 a.m., Oct. 16, at Bethany Christian Reformed Church. The Rev. Bobby Boyd will officiate. Burial will be in Rehoboth.

White died Oct. 10, 2009, in Gallup. He was born Oct. 31, 1985, in Gallup, into the Gray Streak Ends People Clan for the Black Streak of Forest People Clan.

White attended Churchrock Elementary School, JFK Middle School, Gallup High and Wingate High. He enjoyed playing basketball and football and listening to music.

Survivors include his parents, Olivia Jean White, Curtis R. Carviso; brothers, Jerome White, Kernivin Carviso; sister, Nicole Carviso.

White was preceded in death by his grandparents, Tom White Sr., Bah Yazzie White.

Pallbearers will be Jerome White, Shawn Yazzie, Kernivin Carviso, Anderson Peshlakai, Andy Peshlakai, Jenson Peshlakai.

The family will receive relatives and friends at Churchrock Chapter House, following services.
