Local recycling, conservation event one of many worldwide

GALLUP — For education and information about recycling and energy conservation, look no further than Saturday’s “Global Day of Action,” an event taking place around the world to demand action on global warming and other ecological occurrences.

Locally, the McKinley Citizen’s Recycling Council, the Friends of Gallup Solar, among other groups, will gather at La Montanita Food Market, 105 E. Coal Ave., from 10 a.m. to noon, to make a statement on the need to reduce energy consumption and the release of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere.
