Margitta Bibo

MILAN — Memorial Mass for Margitta M. Bibo, 68, will be 11 a.m., Friday, Oct. 30, at St. Vivian Catholic Church in Milan. Burial will be in Grants Memorial Park.

Bibo died Oct. 25, 2009, in Grants. She was born June 22, 1941, in Bamberg, Germany.

Survivors include her companion, Pat Jaramillo of Milan; children, Anna Hamilton of Milan, Philip Bibo of San Mateo, Rick Bibo of Farmington, Jack Bibo of Milan, Jim Bibo of Chandler, Ariz.; sister, Sonia Turbanisch of Germany; nine grandchildren; three great-grandchildren.

Bibo was preceded in death by her parents, Bruno Otwrot, Anna Turbanisch.

SAN RAFAEL — Private services for Lillian Lurline Burdine, 78, will be at a later date.

Burdine died Oct. 15, 2009, in Albuquerque. She was born Oct. 27, 1930, in Portales.

Survivors include her children, Kenneth Burdine of San Rafael, Jack Burdine of San Rafael, Blinda Bornholdt of San Rafael; brother, Lloyd Smith of San Rafael, JT Smith of Farmington; 11 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren.

Burdine was preceded in death by her husband; parents, Frank Smith, Lillian Bessie Smith; sisters, LaDonna Heisch, Laneva Plant; brother, Lewis Smith.

DALTON PASS — Services for Margaret M. Etcitty, 90, will be 10 a.m., Oct. 30, at St. Paul Catholic Church, Crownpoint. Burial will be in Crownpoint Community Cemetery.

Etcitty died Oct. 25, 2009, in Dalton Pass. She was born Aug. 15, 1919, in Dalton Pass.

Survivors include her daughters, Joann Chapo of Dalton Pass, Theresa Tolth of Crownpoint, Helena Shorty of Becenti, Eunice Spencer of Dilcon, Yvonne Long of Smith Lake, Helen McCabe of Anaheim, Calif.; sons, James Etcitty of Dalton Pass, Ernest Warner of Dalton Pass; 48 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren.

Etcitty was preceded in death by her husband, Joe Etcitty; parents, Steven Morgan, Ned Mother Morgan; sons, Paul Warner, Jack Etcitty; sisters, Helen Silversmith, Alice Grey, Emma Largo, Mary Etcitty; brothers, Charlie Yazzie Morgan, Ned Morgan.

BREADSPRINGS — Services are pending for Shirley Ann Quick, 74.

Quick died Oct. 27, 2009, in Gallup. She was born March 10, 1935, in Breadsprings, into the Towering House People Clan for the Meadow People Clan.

Larry Scott

FORT DEFIANCE — Funeral services for Larry Francis Scott, 71, were today, Oct. 29, at Good Shepherd Mission, Fort Defiance. Burial was in Fort Defiance Community Cemetery. Visitation as 9 a.m., at Good Shepherd Mission.

Scott died Oct. 23, 2009, in Fort Defiance. He was born June 15, 1938, in Fort Defiance, into the Near the Water People Clan for the Red House People Clan.

Scott was in a five year program at Inter-Mountain Indian School. He went through training at San Jose, Calif. as a carpenter. His hobbies included dancing at all Song and Dances and being with his family. He did odd jobs on the reservation and off reservation. He enjoyed watching Western Movies.

Survivors include his daughter, Gerialdine Day; mother, Bertha Scott; brother, Jonah Scott; sister, Marie Scott; two grandchildren; one great-grandchild.

Scott was preceded in death by his father, Francis Kee Scott; common-law wife, Marie Teddy.

Pallbearers will be Patrick Marshall, Lorenzo Gordy, Earl Upshaw Jr., Kendall Henry, Charles Day, Art Moore.

The family will receive relatives and friends at 2 p.m., Oct. 29, at Fort Defiance Chapter House, following services.

Harlan Shirley

ALBUQUERQUE — Funeral services for Harlan D. Shirley, 31, will be 11 a.m., Oct. 30, at French Mortuary, Albuquerque. Burial will be in Sunset Memorial Park, Albuquerque.

Shirley died Oct. 23, 2009, in Albuquerque. He was born Dec. 21, 1977, in Great Falls, Mont., into the Red Forehead People Clan for the Zuni People Clan.

Shirley attended Navajo Elementary, Job Corp., and Kicking Horse, Mont. He was a certified nursing assistant in Great Falls and Albuquerque.

He worked at UNM Hospital for 10 years and received awards and pins for his services. He loved life, reading books, being outdoors, watching movies, traveling and above all, spending time with his boys and family.

Survivors include his sons, Daylem Shirley, Michael Kaiden Woody; brothers, Adelbert Shirley, Warren Shirley, both of Albuquerque, John Oxford, Louis Sutherland, both of Great Falls, Mont.; sisters, Una Shirley, Verla Shirley, Starr Oxford, all of Great Falls, Mont.; grandparents, Rose Gopher, James Bacon of Great Falls, Mont., Zander R. Shirley Sr., Minnie A. Shirley, Tom D. Shirley, Verbeth Shirley, all of Deer Springs, Ariz.

Shirley was preceded in death by his parents, Gilbert D. Shirley, Marie Rose Bacon; brother, Rolando L. Shirley.

Myron Yazzie

GALLUP — Funeral services for Myron Yazzie, 25, will be 10 a.m., Friday, Oct. 30, at the Cope Memorial Chapel, Gallup. Burial will be in Gallup City Cemetery. Visitation will be at Cope Memorial, following services.

Yazzie died Oct. 24, 2009, in Gallup. He was born Sept. 18, 1984, in Gallup, into the Cover People Clan for the Salt People Clan.

Yazzie graduated in 2009 from Sage Life Long Learning Center. He worked for Cowboy Cleaners and was active in basketball.

Survivors include his parents, Michael Yazzie, Rita White, both of Gallup; brothers, Marwin Yazzie, Michael Yazzie, Brian Ashley, all of Gallup; sisters, Michealena Yazzie, Selena Yazzie, both of Gallup; grandparents, Alice White of Pretty Rock and Darlene Yazzie.

Yazzie was preceded in death by his grandparents, Francise White Sr.; Lee Wylie; great-grandfather, Dan Yazzie Sr.

Pallbearers will be Marwin Yazzie, Michael Yazzie, Cody Howard, Orlando Benally, Frolanda Benally, Nathaniel Peters.

The family will receive relatives and friends at Manuelito Chapter House, following services.
