Police target cell phone abusers, panhandling

GALLUP — Yes, driving while distracted and panhandling could get to be even bigger problems around town, but, if they do or don’t get worse, the Gallup Police Department won’t be deterred in writing citations or making arrests.

That was the message to the Gallup City Council by Police Chief Robert Cron during the regular city meeting Wednesday. Cron provided the information in response to a request made at a previous city meeting by City Councilor Allan Landavazo.
