Man found in Lower Fruitland waterway

WINDOW ROCK — A 22-year-old San Juan County man died after falling into a water canal in Lower Fruitland on Tuesday, according to the Navajo Department of Law Enforcement in Shiprock.

Navajo Nation Police in Shiprock were called to Lower Fruitland just before noon on a report of a man that possibly fell into the canal. According to the police report, there were two witnesses. Law enforcement officers searched the area with help from the Navajo Nation Irrigation Department.
