Descheny: No teachers will be cut

GALLUP — As local public school officials continue working to come up with ways to trim this year’s budget because of cutbacks to school funding, one school board member made it clear Monday that there is one sacred cow: teachers.

“I don’t want to see any teachers cut from the budget,” said Anne Descheny, who said when the cuts have to be made, she would like to see them “start at the top and not at the bottom.”
